Why are the majority of you so rude and childish when you answer? Some of us, who don't know this sport, but who are trying to learn, really get treated like dirt? Why? Don't you all want more fans????

To the first two answers: I didn't ask this so you could get off by putting Nascar down. Nascar does NOT control their fans any more then your sport can control you. You are the type of person I am asking about.

Sorry Lisa, but you can't just group the men and say it is them, I find women to be just as rude if not sometimes ruder. Gender isn't the reason.

...I know the question you are talking about. It was a Jeff Gordon question. What happens is there is a lot of fan bashing going on from other users. Also people come to the Nascar section just to pick at the Nascar fans.
...You can expect a few days after a race for people to be fired up. That also encourages the bashers to participate more because of the passion of the true fans for their sport and drivers.
...Some fans get just a little offensive because they think someone is taking away from their driver which could have been the case. I didn't think the question you asked was doing that. In fact I thought the same thing you did at first. When you posted your previous question it persuaded me to rewind the tape and note what really happened.
...Then there is the immature. You have to look over some people.

I can only think that there are a bunch of kids on here that don't understand that there are really people that want to know legitimate answers to question.
They really show there selves when they can only correct your spelling. Or like I read one persons Q thing this morning that called a red flag a black flag. I bet they drilled that person something awful.
Myself, I am 1st a race loving fan, and 2nd an old school NASCAR fan who misses the old day terrible. The new rules are so far fetched it's beyond my belief and I will focus on this stupidity of NASCAR and the false statements that I hear from question askers but I try not to be rude or though sugars coat the answer either. Getting the best BEST ANSWER GUY medal is not important to me just the truth.
I personally don't care if there are more fans if they are going to be like the childish one that are here now.
And for you DON'T for a second think it's just here. I went to the political Q&A and spelled a word wrong and I stopped looking at the answers after the third one because they were all on me about my spelling not the subject.

It depends on the question. The people that come in here and ask questions just to stir the pot ("Why is NASCAR considered a sport?", "Who's the hottest driver?", and anything that is intentionally derogatory towards NASCAR fans) will get ripped a new one, figuratively. However, people who come and ask legitimate questions about NASCAR because they want to learn, are generally given an appropriate, polite answer by the die-hard fans. We always welcome potential fans who really want to learn about the sport.
Then there are the people who answer with completely off-the-wall answers just for the two points.

I agree with you. I try to formulate my response to be passionate but not rude. There are definitely drivers I hate, and ones I would die for....but as a rule I won't be derogatory. If a rude question comes up, I may give an equally rude answer.
Having said that, ALL NASCAR fans are passionate about the sport and their driver and they only want their point of view heard.
I am a HUGE Hendricks fan, namely Gordon and Johnson, but I really don't care for the new driver they hired.
I try to tone it down here when I answer questions, but I do get a little onry when I watch him pass my boys and try to bully them on the track. My boys will bully back and I cheer loudly.
The best advice is ignore the rude ones and listen to the others. Most of the responses are positive, and you can learn alot about the sport here.

I think that it depends on the question.
YOU asked a question earlier "Why did NASCAR have to help Jeff Gordon win?" and that is a ridiculous question. It not only insults Jeff Gordon fans, but it also insults the integrity of the sport. NASCAR is not fixed, and many of us are tired of hearing that kind of crap. If you're going to ask a silly question, expect to get flamed when people start answering it. People are tired of the stupid conspiracy questions that are asked on these boards.
You could have re-worded your question to something like "Please explain what happened with the finish of tonight's race, it seemed a bit strange to me." Rather than say "Why did NASCAR help Jeff win?"

Maybe rudeness is a requirement to be a NASCAR fan. Joking aside, it's more banter than rudeness I think.

There are rude people every where, just ignore them. In my opinion, they are not true nascar fans. They are people trying to ruin the sport for others.

Sorry it's because of elitest snobs like the first 2 posters on here, sadly it tends to put us on the defensive a lot, it all depends on how you ask the question, then again some folks on here really are rude. Lisa, it has nothing to do with gender sheesh there are some women who are very knowledgeable in this form. Hell idiots come in all forms thank you.

Some of them are trolls that are huge fans of F! and come over hear to do that. They are upset because F1 ranks at the bottom with soccer in the USA.
Haven't you ever noticed? A driver cannot even sneeze during a race, the F1 car will crack a body panel and stop the computers.
