can youu get in trubble for not telling a police officer something if you do not want to get in to trubble yourself???? but still press charges on someone???

If you hinder the officers investigation in any way(i.e. withholding information) you can go to jail.

It is best not to withold anything, because if it discovered at a later date, you will lose all of your credibility as a witness and the person may be found not guilty (because you can't be believed). If you can't tell the whole truth then forget about charging anyone.

Being kind of "one way" aren't you? You want to get someone else in trouble and want them to pay for something they did but you want to stay clean. Withholding evidence will get you in trouble. Interfering with an investigation also.

First LEARN TO SPELL.
Second, THINK before speaking.
Third, Speak the truth fully at all times.

You'd be surprised how many people, if they follow the above rules, would never be able to speak at all.
