First report it to the embassy in the country where you are staying.
then I would call back to the United States and report it stolen there as well.
I would then, alert any and all credit card companies that you have cards with. Because the person who stole it could use it to open a new acct. or try to access the ones you already have. Were there any ID numbers in your wallet? other credit cards, anything you feel is threatened I would get on the phone and report as soon as possable.
