You could try putting a rasher of bacon in the water but reduce the salt to compensate, or a veg stock cube knorr are good, Alternatively season after cooking.

If your family like yours though don't change that's why mums cooking is allways best its what they remember.

i detect that swede could be stewed like apple as a effect protecting each and all the style. placed the chopped swede in a pan with some olive oil and a couple of spoonfuls of water. convey to the boil then enable simmer till the swede has long previous comfortable. Mash and serve with butter and nutmeg. You musn't put in plenty water to start with yet you're able to verify it does not boil dry. in case you do it this form, you do no longer pour a million/2 the style away with the cooking water. It sounds like anyone else prefers a million/2 the style to be poured away. it is your selection.

Well you have to cut off the head, remove the finger and toe nails first, gut and clean them, it is not possible get a whole one in the oven so you will need to reduce to cuts, baste regularly whilst cooking. The finished dish is called longpig.

Slow cooking is always the best in a crock pot. Second best is to bake on low heat.
