Why are business men so revered in our culture today.?

Question

When the majority of business men are mean people who exlpoit anything they can get there hands on. I had to ask this because I was personally insulted by the yahoo ad about the "business god" what a pedestal to put someone on. I have also experienced the world of business first hand, I had to get out of it as I never realised how shady you have to be. Another thing, why are people who cheat benefits considered criminals when business people who dodge taxes creatively called "gods"?

For the business people who think I am calling all of them shady please note the MOST part.

Sorry I meant the MAJORITY bit

Quite simple MONEY is the modern god and all with it shall be worshipped.

There are shady people everywhere, but just because you are in business doesn't mean you are shady. I am a self made millionaire. I worked hard honestly to acquire what I have by renovating old houses and reselling them. It is true, some people make a lot of money and it goes to their heads. But that is the case for anyone. Look at Jim Bakker, Ted Haggard just for starters. They claimed to be next to God!
So I think you are unfairly labeling the entire business community, just as it would be unfair to me to say that all religious leaders are bogus money launderers.

This has always been the way of the world.I have no objection to tax avoidance but object to tax evasion. One is legal and one is not. False benefit claimants steal from us all. I will not point the figure at businessmen because we all of us depend upon him for our wages and pensions and welfare benefits whether we like it or not. I do not regard them as a God and often wish less emphasise could be put on the economy and more on human relations but this will always be a dream

Because people like George W. Bush have created a climate for it to be this way. There is no balance between big business and the little people and the social programs that would help them more.

After all it is not biggie, it brings the subject of God in relation to business into perspective and debate.

The last supper of Christ shows us what is God's views of a social system. People saw a ritual when in reality should have seen Jesus saying share the bread and wine, as everything else.

One world in unity under God, sharing, putting aside all ritualistic religions. (As Jesus said, King of kings, "Love God above all things and your neighbor as yourself" )

So much diversity of production in the world brings the world resources to an end.

So much competition brings paper resources to kill the forest, same as too much recycling produces pollution.

Worldwide delivery and movement of products produces consumption and pollution.

So much competition produces administrative corruption and bad or contaminated finished products.

House products could maybe have a micro-generator instead of using distributed energy lines.

The rich stays rich and the poor stays poor, and nobody helps people in the dry lands. Nor are they moved to other lands.

not me. i despise the majority of big business people. there arent as many honest business people about because it's almost impossible to be able to make a living out of an honest business in this country. the government has made certain of that.
