I'm not certain which is which anymore lol... since the meanings of words change so often these days... I tend to stay away from politics to a degree...
Blessed is the nation whose God is The Lord... I don't see THAT happening here...

A christian must surely be left wing?? Didn't Jesus advocate giving all your money to the poor? Didn't he say be accepting of outsiders?? in fact if you listen to the story of barnabus the Bible actually endorses Communism in a way it has never supported capitalism! As for the death penalty i seem to remeber Jesus speaking out against this too which the republicans seem very pro.
I don't see how a republican can have true christian faith and yet so many do- i'm sure someone will be able to argue the case but if you listen to jesus' most important teachings i think you'd HAVE to say jesus was more left wing than the democrats but the democrats are the lesser of two evils.

i'm really not loyal to either party. i vote on the candidates i agree with the most. for the most part, those candidates tend to be republican. of course, i only converted to christianity about a year ago, and haven't voted since. for this presidential election, i'll most likely go with a democrat, simply because the republican party is... well... hopeless. they don't have a chance of winning, so i'll find the democrat i can agree with the most, and vote for him. but it definitely won't be billary. maybe if she could open her mouth without saying ''when my husband was in office,'' or ''george w is an idiot,'' it might be different, but it seems like she can't do either. so yeah... i'm really not loyal to either party. i tend to agree with the republicans most of the time, but not all the time, and i won't vote republican if i can't agree with them.

That's a tough one.
I'm a Christian - but so disillusioned now with both political parties in this country - I don't know how I would "label" myself anymore.
I am against abortion and the death penalty; support gay rights and gay marriage; favor government-run universal health care but opposed to higher taxes and a welfare state that rewards laziness.
To show you how screwed up my politics are - I could support either Hillary Clinton or Rudy Giuliani for President in 2008!
But the two candidates I absolutely can not stand - due to their hypocrisy and political expediency - John Edwards and Mitt Romney.

Neither! A Christian, being a follower of Jesus Christ, would follow his example and be "no part of the world". Jesus refused any involvment in politics. (John 17:16; John 6:15)

They should belong to which ever party is most in line with there political views. Personally I keep my religious views separate from my political opinions. As for the two major party's it appears obvious that the Republicans are the party of hypocrites. Several sex scandals recently, among them "I'm not gay Larry Craig, Pedophile with young boy pages, Mark Foley, The New Orleans rep with prostitutes. All campaign proclaiming strong Christian values. "W" starting a war for revenge and oil, oh wait that was W.M.D's or regime change, or what's the reason this week. But he is a strong Christian man that God talks to. So now all you good holy moral republican Christians can give me a thumbs down. How ever when it is your child that dies for a war we should not be in, or your child that is sick with no health care, or your job that is out sourced just remember who you voted for and why. Was it because that was the best person for the job, or for the religious views they expressed during a campaign.

Christians should support God-fearing people who are running for office, regardless of party. They should feel obliged to vote in every election.
It's easy to spot the fakes. They're the ones who slam Christians one day, and court them the next.

I am just very disillusioned by our society and government.
It's "OK" to cheat, lie, steal commit adultery and whatever now days, even all the way to the presidency.
This may be the first election I won't vote for president unless I'm convinced otherwise....Hillary wants us to pay HUGE taxes for health care, Giuliani is an adulterer and I don't know enough about the rest yet.

Free Country - so why not be free to choose who we think will do the best for our people ?
*
Will all Christians do the "right thing" or will they be shackled by their parties ?
*
Best to assume they are "independent" and vote for who you think will look after our country best.
