I had an 01 1500 with the 5.2 it was a great truck but was hard on fuel.It had a 3.92 gear ratio with the trac lock option and got 13 mpg.I traded it in with about 80,000 miles on it and had no problems with it.I had a friend with one who went 115,000 miles before trade in again with not one problem.Interiors are a bit poorly made and don't forget to get transmission filter and fluid changes.I would recomend having a transmission filter and fluid change immediately if you are buying a used one and do it every twenty thousand miles after that.

transmission problems mostly, also the evap coil for the a/c. has it ever had a trans? or an a/c evap coil? the engines are usually great. the 5.9 and 5.2 (360 and 318) are the best engines chrysler makes. if the trans has been replaced or rebuilt, they usually are ok. i had my 318 truck trans replaced at about 140,000. it has about 250,000 on it now and it still runs great. the a/c evap coil costs about $1100.00 if it goes bad but worst case scenario you just wont have a/c

Please, for your own sake, do not buy this vehicle. They are JUNK!!!! All kinds of problems. Did you ever check where the engine or the vehicle are made? Stay away.
