Didn't they in actuality murder many innocent people - to save the lives of others?

You missed the point of my question: To me they are brave heroes of the highest order... I was asking if they were sinners in the eyes of your God

by the way, did you know that not one body was recovered from the scene? isn't that odd?

Was this an exception to the "Thou shalt not murder" commandment?

Definitely they sinned.

Yes they sinned -- we all do. But THAT WAS NOT THE REASON THAT THE PLANE CRASHED!! As I recall the events, they prayed before stopping the terrorists, or at least one of them did, and they were willing to give their lives to save others. That makes them martyrs. They did this in God's power and His love for all flowed through them. Those of them who are Christians are in heaven now, eternally happy, and their loved ones who are Christians will see them again.

Being a Christian does not mean that bad things won't happen -- there is too much sin in the world to stop bad things from happening. My mother had no history of heart trouble -- yet died of a massive heart attack Tuesday night totally unexpectedly. Did she die because she was a sinner? In a way, yes, because all sin and all deserve death. Did she die because of a particular sin? No. Was God being mean to us by taking her? No. For the Christian, all things work together for good. I have the hope of seeing her again, of knowing that she is not truly dead -- her spirit is alive with God, and is looking down upon us. I would wish for that hope for all.

She's in heaven. She wants others to join her there. The same is true for the martyrs of the plane crash in Pennsylvania -- those who chose to die so that others may live. If that is not God's love personified -- a reminder of Jesus laying down His life so that all could live, so long as they believe, I don't know what is. Greater love hath no man than to lay down His life for His friends (John 15:13). Jesus knows us all, we are all His friends. The passengers on Flight 93 did not even know the people they saved, but chose to save them anyway. There is no honor in using their sacrifice to point to sin. They are martyrs who deserve our thanks.

I presume you are asking did they sin by trying to save the plane & also to keep it from hitting the white house, No to that question, but What they did does not make them a Christian, I will say there was no doubt many that were sinners, & they called upon God for forgiveness then God forgives. But if any that was not born again & did not call on God, Then as the bible says as a tree fallls so shall it be.

that IS rather odd, now that u mention it. And I think that the terrorists are in their form of Hell right now, even though I do not believe that they think they were doing anything wrong. Any religion tht proposes harm on another is not a form i would want to practice. ( gee, I sound like a Wiccan already!)

The Law Covenant contains guidance in regard to this. The principle was that someone who defended his own life against an assailant was innocent if he caused (not by desire) or was forced by circumstances to kill to protect himself and his family.

The incident you mention would seem to fit, don't you agree?

There are other places such as the accounts of David and his wars that have other principles that back this up.

No. Are you serious?
In fact, that was a highly altruistic self-sacrifice. If the terrorists had succeeded, there would have been even more deaths "No greater love has anyone, who gives himself for his fellow man". These people are martyrs--God will reward them in heaven.

Jesus said there was no greater love than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

What the passengers of United 93 did was no sin; and one day, I look forward to meeting them and honoring them for their bravery, their heroism.

No, they were actually very brave. They tried to save the others on that plane who were going to die at the hands of the terrorist.
They tried to save them and theirselves, but failed.
But, look at all of the others they did save.

why were there no engines or seats or luggage found in that Field? Every plane crash leaves large amounts of debris....not that one....why? Look at the pictures.
