i am 16 years old living in Brisbane and wanting to become a pilot when older, i acquire all prerequisites needed for the course except the $15,000-$20,000 needed for flying during the 3 year course, so thats $45000-$60000 needed to get my commercial pilots license. is there any way of somehow getting this money, would the government pay some of it,bank loan or anything please any ideas on how i could get past this problem, and i don't want to go to the air force. thanks

I used to fly to Brisbane and spend a week once a month over the past half dozen years or so. Grew quite fond of you Aussies. You have the same problems all of us had when we decided to fly. But I see one thing you seem to be lacking that we, or at least I, did not. That one thing is the attitude that you'll do whatever it takes. You've already eliminated the military as an option. What else is there that you are not willing to do? For me, the answer was nothing, including the military. Good luck. You'll need it.

Not sure how it works in Autralia, but here in the states myself and many others have gotten loans from banks to pay for most if not all of our training.

Good Luck.
