Quite often, Atheists are very spiritual people with a very personal sense of what theists call 'holy'. We don't call it holy, but there are many things that we consider sacred. Besides, lots of questions are directly aimed at us, and being the chatty folk we are, we like to answer those. I do anyway.

Other than it is an open board and Yahoo gives us the right to, I ask those questions I'm interested having various opinions from various people from different beliefs. I answer because it's a subject I've always been interested in on the same level as I am interested in mythology and other humanities subjects.

Some of them are interested in having their questions answered. Others are just looking for someone to bait or others to agree with their perspective. Might as well ask why anyone posts...

because majority of the atheists are skeptics, confused, and in a dilemma whether to believe or not!! In fact I know quite number of atheists who ended up becoming religious. Just one example to prove my point is Jeffery Lang, math proferssor in university of Kansas, he is now a Muslim after being an atheist.

Because we secretly believe in God but are just too scared to admit it. It's like mosquitos being attracted to lights.
