Only the Germans.
Since the Second World War British battle tanks (rather like NATO codenames) all begin with the letter 'C'.
Churchill,
Cromwell,
Comet,

A Tankers job is to HUNT down his prey and KILL it, the animals named are very good at that job,
Not sure about all the Fantasy / Sci-Fi slogan style names listed some sound more like a Pizza delivery than a armored fighting Vehicle.
Some are obvious reference to nazi fascists which dose not say much for the mentality of the crews??
Example:
Teufel Schwein Woodland Warriors 1st Mo. Mechanized,
Rommel the Konigstiger (King Tiger) Amored Fist's own tank
Panzerhandwagen I* Ausf SG The Gryphonians.
* the correct tern is Panzerkampfwagen.
Gen. Heinz Guderian the Kanonenwagen Team Hun
or else nick J, picked his list of names from some sci-fantasy computer game??

It pretty much started in WWII. Adolf Hitler personally named most of germany's tanks and other AFV's after ferocious, wild animals like Tiger and Panther because he wanted to convey a sense of strength, command respect and instill fear in his enemies. The tradition has sort of carried on with the modern day Bundeswehr.
Hope that helps.

Its the Germans that mostly do that.
The US names our tanks after former Generals.
The British name a lot of their other vehicles after swords, Ex- Rapier, Scimitar, etc.
Its just what the country decides to do.

That's mainly an European thing. I suppose it's because large wildcats bring connotations of speed, power and toughness - the essential qualities of any good tank.
