I haven't read the other Answer-ers, but one of them must be trying to fluff-off your dilemma as being a "rich person's problem."
It's tough being a woman, is what I always say , and I'm a guy.
But I've seen what my mother has gone thru with my dad (infidelity & divorce after 30 years together), and what my teen-aged daughter is just BEGINNING to go through (she's 13 and 5'8" and slim and beautiful & long-haired & boy-crazy), and what my sometimes girlfriend goes through putting up with me!
But that's just me, and I don't think this is helping -- is it?
I don't know your current status as far as living alone or with someone like parents or boyfriend or room-mate.
So, I will assume you have your own place, apartment style housing, and that jerk is the guy who trims the grass. The fact that you know his marital status tells me you've been talking to him, and that can lead a man on. But I'm not placing blame here, just stating facts about human nature. A man has difficulty being faithful to one woman by his nature. Even though the institution of marriage attempts to tame this tendency, and there was a day when he said, "Till death do us part" or something just as binding, a man's still a man.
And, no doubt you are a normal, attractive, young woman.
Again, no blame here, and I'm not flirting (altho I am a man, too, but that's not addressing your question, either, so...)
As a woman, and to succesfully deal with men, you just have to learn as much as you can about the psychological aspect of both a man's AND a woman's needs and desires, much of which you will learn the hard way through life experiences. And if you are lucky, VERY LUCKY, you will find someone special, if that's what you want!
So, I wouldn't give this guy the time of day for the next few days, ignore him completely, avoid him deliberately (and others like him in the future) and try not to allow dirtbags like him to actually occupy space in your mind. You have probably got better things think about.
Another suggestion: if you like to write, then you've got some good fodder for some juicy chapter in your book!
Who knows?!

Men do really stupid things when their balls take over. I know, I have, assuming things that were not there.
Anyway, you have three choices.
#1 fire him now
#2 fire him after
#3 bring him out a glass of lemonade, hand it too him and let him drink it down. He'll probably wink at you, make small advances, just sit back and smile. Then tell him, "the next time you lay a hand on me, I'll put rat poison in the next glass. Then I'll fire you before you drop dead."
Then turn around, shake your butt and be done with him.
If he's a good gardener, keep him, if he's lousy, fire him anyway. But I'll lay dollars to donuts you'll never get a lusty look again.
Peace
Jim

Wow...sounds like a rip off straight out of a book.
Aww...the typical pool boy and gardner story...who hasn't had this experience yet.?.
Yeah well if you had any common sense you would terminate him from finishing the job on those grounds alone.
HOWEVER you don't seem to be too disgusted by the whole idea, in fact I think you're flattered more than anything and that is why you will keep him around, and considering it's only for a couple more days...why not.?.
Anyways that's great some gardner likes you, good for you.
You'll keep him around...

Wow, you must be rich. The only people that I have ever heard of having gardners were the 'rich and famous'. Me, I do it all myself. That and everything else. I even mow the lawn. Which I love doing. Oh, Oh....your question. I would have just told him to back off buddy. Not interested, and walked away. Thank goodness his contract runs out in a couple of days. If it didn't, he should be fired!

Usually, there's some set of signals one may be giving off that provides permission for a man to make advances. If you can clearly look back and see that you've not given him any such encouragement, then you should get a friend to deal with him for the rest of this contract, don't deal with him in future, and even report him to the Better Business Bureau (or whatever) so that others can be forewarned to his offputting behavior.
Truly, most men with wives and kids don't try to destroy their livelihood so blatantly as this, unless they want the wife to sue for divorce and they're finding a convenient scapegoat.
Don't even be flattered; he's weird.

This is a case to report to the police and see what can be done, because he really hurt you in somehow and bothered, you have the right to be there and not being told that, he crossed the line. If that happens again, don't hesitate and go ahead, this looks like the typical case of something that ends up bad later, but it all depends if you are also wanting to go that direction, which I can't tell from here. If you let it happen and you don't report it, you are enjoying it in part the fact you are receiving that kind of attention and you aren't being ignored.

I'd fire him now, call the company you originally found him from, and request that they send over someone else. If he isn't from a company, fire him anyways and find someone else. For all you know, he might try to plant cameras in your garden or find ways to break into your house. He sounds scary. I'd say: End this now, and keep an eye on the house.

eeewwwww! Yeah... that's all kinds of disrespectful!!! What contract? With a company? Report his azz to the company! If the contract is with you- I would report him to the authorities for sexual harassment! Or at least call the Better Business Bureau on him! Something!!! You have a right to be pissed!
