I'm graduating from high school next year and I don't want to go to the Gold Coast and get smashed for a week with my friends. I can't afford to go overseas, and I'm from Victoria, Australia; are there any structured volunteer options I can take?

I'd like to work and stay with or around people my own age, but other ideas are fine. Mostly, I'm just looking for something more than alcohol and beaches, neither of which thrill me.

I'll be under 18 at the time, so I suppose a few options are out of the question, but all ideas are welcome!

Thanks, love and starshine, xox

Maybe a food pantry, homeless shelter, adopting a community and cleaning it up, clean up a park, maybe even volunteer at a hospital. Good luck!!
