My goodness. If its been 20 years and you still think about her in that way, maybe you need to locate her. It may be destiny. It could be that she is the one. Or it could just be fond memories and you just need to move on. Are you currently with someone? A lot of times the fact that we are alone makes us think of the good times with our past loves. Sometimes I do that. Lately a lot.

I am 69 years young and I can remember almost every girl I ever dated. Of course you only remember the good times but regardless you may always remember. I am still friends with GFs I had over 50 years ago and enjoy talking some about the times we spent together. But you never forget them so just savor the memories when they come to mind.

Obsess much? You broke up 20 years ago for a reason. It wouldn't have worked out.
If you find yourself constantly thinking about her to the point where it's impacting your relationships now (like mentally comparing all of the girls or refusing to date someone because they aren't as pretty), then you should think about getting some professional help. You may want to get rid of any momentos or pictures as well.

Are you sure that you want to forget her? I get the feeling that maybe you don't. Why don't you contact her and talk with her for a while if it's possible. It may help you resolve this issue so that you can move on in peace. Or it may lead to a renewed friendship. You'll never know if you don't try.

I think Ashleys answer is pretty cool... Something I need to do as well...
But I dont think it matters that you still think about someone you knew 20 years ago, hell I still think of my first b/f ... It only matters if you become obsesive with it and cant control your life ... then if thats the fact .. seek help from a professional..
Good Luck!

I believe if something was meant to be it would've been. Twenty years is a long time. Bitter sweet memories can live on forever, but it's time to completey move on.
