Could be wear in the power steering, but check the fluid level and top up if rquired.

This is your power steering making the noise, nothing to worry about however try and avoid turning the steering wheel while the car is stationary this will cause the power steering to work extra hard and will make the tyres wear more quickly, best to have the car moving just slightly to avoid excessive wear while turning the steering wheel, check the fluid level and top up if required using the correct brake fluid.
to find out how much to ask for the car, look though the local papers selling the same type of vehicle, and make sure that you have a few months left on the M.O.T and valid road tax, these to things will insure that you sell you car more quickly,
good luck.

your not supposed to turn the steering wheel all the way to one side and can cause damage to the pump. The hydraulic pump is not designed for that and it has something to do with the fluid in the pump. So stop it lol. Is that the only noise your getting and if it is were do you live and how much you want for the car? How many miles are you getting per gallon

It should have a warning in the handbook about holding the steering on full lock for more than a few seconds as this can damage the pump and rack seals. Jeeps have it in great big letters about just that. So, the noise is normal, just don't keep doing it !

Besides the power steering pump/rack and pinion, because of that mileage it could also signify that your steering mechanism in general is getting very worn. I would advise you get the whole lot checked including wheel bearings. Especially if the car is in otherwise excellent condition. Also, on front wheel drive cars the CV couplings can go causing similar noise.

Hi. I would set the disk spin down time to minimum and let the disk turn off. If the noise stops it the disk MAY be failing or it may cause a vibration. Touch different parts of the panel to see if the noise stops (use a nonconducting stick of plastic rod). If the noise continues I would consider getting a new drive.
