While in the Old Testament.
Ecclesiastes 7:16
Be not righteous overmuch; neither make thyself overwise: why shouldest thou destroy thyself?

In the New Testament
Jesus says to love your enemies. I believe he said that as a way to avoid satan coming into our hearts.

What is your opinion?

Thunor that is said in view of human behaviour to interpret things about Jesus, the sword is judgement, you are judge as you judge. He understood human mentality in this sense. And he did not deny that he was to be the cause of it.

no. compassion has always existed. saber toothed tigers took care of each other when they were sick or injured. religious people have a hard time accepting anything outside their little world. they did not invent emotions. there is no proof that jesus was anything more than a character in a book. jesus isn't even a hebrew name.
it would be a religious person to be so conceited that his religion take credit for something older than humanity.

Jesus took away all of the sins of the world - which means (if you apply logic) no man today is capable of an act that could be considered as a "sin"...

As for the first, I'd rather destroy myself through knowing too much, than to destroy others through my ignorance.

As for the second, I think you're right in a way. If our enemy is to strike us down, it is far better that we perish with love in our hearts than to attempt to enter into the kingdom of heaven with hatred.

I have seen it in the bible where jesus said. "I have not come to bring peace, but the sword." So what is to be made of that?
