To clarify: this is an obese male, who has absolutely no regard for others in many other respects. Such as, gluttonizing other peoples' food, not replacing toilet paper roll, not contributing to the household in any way.

Has she ever had any head or brain trauma? My sister did and the area of her brain that was damaged does not allow her to understand things like that. She use to be clean and beautiful at one time. Drug addiction is possible or could be depression. That really causes bad hygiene cause they just do not care about how they look or anything. More experience of that from my wonderful family members. See why I am the black sheep?

OK, your friend needs to grow a backbone. Why she has a room mate not of her choosing is strange, but regardless of how those circumstances came about SOMEONE can either get rid of the room mate or she can find another place to live. If SHE rents from the slob and does so because it is cheap, then that is HER PROBLEM. I'd say it was her problem all the way around, and the answer is, "Get rid of him, or leave."

Possibly mental illness. I sat next to a guy like that at work years ago. His father was a highly respected Doctor, but his son stank - but I am pretty sure it was because he had a mental illness or had had a breakdown. Young people in their early 20s can develope schizophrenia.

better than basically significant, i do no longer even physique of innovations a guy who does not seem sparkling. One has to take bathe in each and every 2 days (in many cases occurring is greater useful), brush his tooth a minimum of as quickly as an afternoon and shave himself a minimum of two times a week. additionally one has to bathe his arms quite a few cases an afternoon. i think of there's a pungent guy in Y!A who thumbs down each and every answer which says hygiene is significant :)

Rather spending time, energy and effort trying to fathom out why the guy is behaving the way he is, would it not be a lot simpler for your friend to remove themselves from the situation and move out a.s.a.p.
Its clear that the situation is untenable because of his behaviour and if she/you try to address it you may open a whole "can of worms" causing you more grief in the long run.
