Decide what breed you want and search the net for breeders in your area that breed the type of dog you want.
Speak to as many breeders as possible, visit as many breeders as possible and do your research well.
A dog is for life not just whilst they are puppies.

You might try phoning the animal shelters. They are usually overloaded with dogs, puppys tend to go fast though.

Why would you want to buy dogs on the internet. Wouldn't you be better off going to have a look at the conditions they live/are raised in and meeting their parents?
