The amount of power any appliance consumes varies widely based on age, manufacturer, and specifications.. A Dell home PC uses about half the power of an Alienware gaming PC. A 19" tube TV uses little power compared to a 42" LCD TV. A Dell home PC uses more power than a 19" TV. One thing to keep in mind, there are many appliances out there, like TVs, that use a lot of power to start up, and then level off to a more nominal usage. If you are really curious, there should be a label on all electronic appliances that state their power consumption in wattage and/or amperage. Either way, the larger the number, the more power used.
