Have you watched an Inconvenient Truth then gone on to learn more about global warming? Do you feel you know enough about the subject to make a truly informed decision on how it's going to affect you and those in your life?

I think that most people who doubt the movie or the theory haven't truly done enough research to understand, or never really wanted to believe. Their are people who love to shoot down a perfectly sound theory based upon flawed data or a small proportion of confounding information. Besides a lot of people think everything they read on the net is real and therefore probably need to read some research papers by scientists. Preferable to get this from a library and from a relevant journal.

<< Have you watched an Inconvenient Truth >>
Yes

<< then gone on to learn more about global warming?>>
I qualified as a climatologist in the 1980's' Global warming and climate change have been a large part of my work for many years now so it wasn't the movie that spurred me into action.

<< Do you feel you know enough about the subject >>
I hope so but there is always more to learn. Climate change is not a simple subject to understand fully. The basic concepts are easy enough to grasp, a comprehensive scientific understanding is very complex.

<< to make a truly informed decision on how it's going to affect you and those in your life? >>
No-one can make a 'truly informed decision' as there are so many variables, we can make estimates and predictions and calculate ranges (maximums and minimums) within which the effects of global warming will be apparent. We can make informed decisions but we can't say exactly what the effects of GW will be.

Yes, its has a good message but no specific solution. Check out Leonardo Caprio's message on Global Warming, then go to NASA's Clean Air Plant Study" for solutions. I've even gone into raising compose worms to learn about soil management, natural fertilizers and organic gardening.

,We have only been keeping accurate weather data for a couple of decades. Its like catching the last five minutes of a TV program and trying to figure out what the program was about. We may be trying to figure out who done it, from the last commercial. We know almost nothing about the long term weather patterns.

Yes, I have done quite a lot of research. Not yet ready to agree with theories presented now. I think we should conserve and get off as much foriegn oil and go to Nuclear anyway. Can't lose. Reduces pollution and helps our national security. No reason not to. If it turns out CO2 is really that bad, then we are ahead of the game.
