I just purchased a flat screen (tube) TV and it is like, 100% more crisp and clear. That might be because my other set was 10 yrs. old, and the tube went out, lol

If we are strictly talking about tube TVs, then the only difference is that you tend to have more glare with the curved screens. Also, flat screens have a wider viewing angle with minimal distortion.

Don't confuse flat screen TVs with flat panels.

to all i've been in the furniture and appliance business more than 30 yrs and just retired, as far as tv's are concerned, don't be fooled by all this hypersonic bullshit, it's all just to make money. i have a 40" diagonal toshiba hd and the picture quality is so incredible it puts my in the 30th century. i've seen ultra hd along with the so called 100" curved diagonal tv and i laughed at the sales rep when i saw it and he asked why, told him i just retired from this business. the 100" curved tv is a joke and i would never spend the $8-15 thousand depending on retailer. my 40" toshiba is in the 30th century. .
