I'm 54, and remarried at 53. I met my 2nd wife through eHarmony, and before we met, I had (no exaggeration) 457 matches to choose from over a 7 month stretch, resulting in over 35 dates that included a 4 month relationship with another woman before truly discovering the love of my life.

I had never been in the dating world of Ohio, as I had just moved out from New York. I was amazed that there were those many people out there for me.

Men had it so much better, according to the women I dated on eHarmony. After my relationship of a few months ended, and I was not getting as many matches as I had had before we started getting serious (she was an alcoholic, and I could no ttake that anymore), I contacted customer service, had them work with me on the right wording for my new ad, and they adjusted the selections they had for me so I was getting appropriate choices for me.

When I say I had as many matches as I did, after the matches, there may or may not be enough chemistry, but eHarmony has a system that allows you to discover that before your first date, and it gives one time to find out more about the person, if they wish, or they can go through what they call Fast Track (as my wife wanted to do with us--we both knew there was something there and it ended up a match truly made in Heaven for us).
Obviously, I found it to be every bit of the money it cost. I am not the type to meet women in bars, or such, although I do make friends easily.
I did not find as much success elsewhere, although I may have had a few dates via Yahoo! Personals. But, eHarmony, because of the questionaire that they discuss on the ads, really worked well for me. I know younger couples who also met that way. Not all my dates were successful, but some were very successful.

Your uncle can find a date provided he is determined to date. Ask your uncle to come out and see what reaction other women of his age gives to him. If he is in a position to please women, he will get date, if otherwise he will not get date. Good Luck.

In the produce aisle, near the prunes.
:-)

Or volunteer in the community, or take a continuing education class, or join a community activity, and meet someone who enjoys doing the same things he does.
