Gordon was low on fuel during that last run. On the restart with less than 10 laps to go his engine stumbled which caused Busch and Bowyer to check up behind him and Newman to shoot out front. What happened there was that he stayed on the banking through turns 3 and 4, and the angle moved the fuel away from the pickup, which is on the right side of the car. During the caution leading up the GWC, he stayed on the apron till the field came out of 4 to take the green.
A four-time champ and 80 race-winner doesnt get "scared".

Jeff had 2 gallons of gas still in post race inspection. He wasn't running out of gas, he had vapor lock after the black flag. The fuel pick up problem caused it to stumble at first. What a nerd to think Gordon is scared of Kyle though.

Jeff Gordon owed the race at the end. And bowyer had a chance to take the lead at the end when gordon spun his tires on the restart, but because sucks he pushed gordon to get going instead of going around.

I too thought it was strange. He seemed to be so low on fuel, and yet he had enough to do a long burn-out and drive to the winner's circle and still didn't run out. I just don't know if he was so worried about it, or being careful. I would need to go watch it again. Perhaps it was Rusty Wallace making a big deal out of Jeff only being semi worried because his car sputtered, lol. Rusty Wallace tends to be over dramatic and harp on small issues.

His car was low on fuel. That's why he was riding the apron under caution, & stumbling on the restarts. Once the car got up to speed, centrifugal force kept what little fuel he had left pushed over to the pick-up screen.
Simple physics.

He and the other drivers who hadn't pitted with eleven laps to go were just being careful. It was close and they knew it, but it was better to be safe than sorry.
Sorry, no conspiracy, Jeff ran the race brilliantly. He didn't get to be one of the greatest drivers by being a nice guy on the track.
I am not a Gordon fan, and I hope that the "Drive for Five" stays alive until he retires.

It was all a plot to make everyone think he was low on fuel, he never was low on fuel, just had a good car and luck.

He took a calculated risk deciding not to pit for more fuel, this one worked out in his favor, it doesnt always work that way. A fan or not, (and I'm not), you have to admit he is driving VERY well this year.

I have to believe you are right or else he wouldn't have spun the tires on the restart. He knew that Clint Bowyer was faster than him so he wanted to have an excuse if Clint would have beat him.
