both great cars and over in the UK the evo is dearer to buy and gets parts for.
Performance wise it depends what you are going for is it the Skyline GTT or the GT as there is a major power difference.
As for the Evo great performance and is the same as the GTT Skyline.
At the end of the day the stock bhp is great and it depends how much money you have, buy the sound of it asking for cheaper etc i feel a few basic mods to each ie decat ,induction kit, boost controller and fmic and a few other little bits is going to be your limit.
All these mods will be around the same price for each, above that your talking ecu's, remapping, bigger injectors ,bigger turbos, fuel pressure regulator, downpipe etc etc.And no matter which car you bought these for your talking more expense and alot of it the more you go.
So the answer is which car you like take them both out for a run as each will feel different to the other to you.Everyday i climb in my Skyline i smile so i know its the car for me.
So get which you like If its the GTT vs the Evo then there the same both are fast and capable of high mods and will take a good beating, both look great and have a lot of cred,I dont think NZ is like the US where the skyline needs lots of extra work to be made legal.
I will add some sites from around the world as if you dont want to ship parts in then at least you get to see what parts or are out there.
Please whichever car you get join the forum to suit the car as with me i get cheaper insurance for being with my skyline club and also traders on the forums usually give you discount.A pm
other members to see where they got there parts from and pro's and cons on parts etc.

Those are crap cars for someone getting their first car (especially if you've just got your licence). Modifications also tend to reduce reliability so you may not have the car working when you need it to work.
Besides, why would you want to make cars with performance as good as that go faster, in stock form they can easily break any speed limit out there and good drivers don't even do that?

These are both very fast, quite expensive cars.
Unless you have money to burn, or your parents do, I doubt you'll get either as your first set of wheels. The insurance would cost you more money than the Hiltons have!
But if you DO have money to burn, just go with a Bughati Veyron - it's THE fastest street-legal car. Why do things half-a$$ed?

Id say the evo would be cheaper overall to mod because there is more of a selection..from what i've heard you have to take parts out of the skyline just to make it street legal.
