Polling, really. There are countless cases these days where a nurse or midwife or some other hospital employee will call for a social worker WHILE a blind mother is giving birth in an attempt to have the child taken from the two blind parents...simply because they're blind. Some nurses also refuse to let the new mothers breast feed their perfectly healthy babies, and will go ahead and give them formula without the parent's permission. And some will take the baby from it's mother whenever the mother and father can't be watched by a sighted staff member in the hospital room. The blind community is always fighting these stupid, stupid people.

I'm not sure I understand the point of your question. Are you just polling the Yahoo parenting community to find out how we feel about it? Or do you have a more specific question involving the safety of a child?

Personally, I think a mom is a mom. There are probably just as many crappy disabled moms as there are crappy moms who can see. And probably as many wonderful, loving perfectly able moms who can't see as who can.

My husband is blind and he does basically high quality elevating the toddlers. maximum circumstances he can tell what they are doing via listening to them. each and every so often they sneak something previous them yet it is being a be sure. childrens will sneak stuff previous sighted mum and dad too. It looks like he has greater of a case of wanting to examine the thank you to be sure frequently (its nopt something persons are born with, you may desire to study it basically like each and every thing else) supply it time, work together with the toddlers a lot while he's there and pass away him on my own with the toddlers for short classes of time to get them used to a minimum of one yet another. in case you're consistently there waiting to bounce in to do issues he won't study. Oh ya and my husband says and that i qoute "in case you think of i'm chaning a diaper being blind you're insane" So depending on carry old the toddlers are you would be able to help in that section ROFL.

I do know people who are blind, and their parenting skills would be none of my business.
