Based on your personal feelings, do you believe it normal or abnormal for a 23 year old girl NOT to have children?

I'm just asking b/c it seems like there are a lot of young mothers on here, that choice to be young mothers.

Not that it's a bad thing. I'm just wondering if lots of women have children this young.

I think that's pretty normal.

No... Why would it be abnormal?
It's a personal choice. People would rather wait until they're married and settled down with life to have children. Not every 23 year old is married or even ready to take care of another life.

There isn't anything abnormal about it. It's better than having a child at 13.

I think a 23 year old is pretty young to have children...I'd say most don't...

However my mom was married with 2 children at 23..now she's 70, still married to the same man and has 5 grown children.......

It depends on the situation.

Well I had children young and I should have waited,, So thats me , but I was just to young, I think most should wait until they are over the ( I want ) and work hard and find a career before you really have Children , Now I have a five yr old grandson that I just love to death because I GAVE birth early ,, but it doesn't always work out that way ,
I guess it depends on how you are raised ?? I just know for me I think I should have waited , but if I did,, I wouldn't have my grand son , so , I guess Its in Gods and your hands ???
Just take it slow Love comes and goes

Neither. Abnormal means something is out of the ordinary. There is nothing wrong with a 23 year old "girl" having a child. Nor is it "normal".

What a weird question.

I think it's normal for a 23 y/o not to have kids. Many people are waiting til their 30's and later to have kids for one reason or another.
It's like the white car theory. (or substitue whatever you want) You want to buy a white car, then all of a sudden you start seeing a million white cars out on the road. On here you see one young mother, then all of a sudden that's what your mind is focused on and you just notice it more.

Normal. I didn't have my 1st child until age 27, when I was through with college, married, and more financially and emotionally ready for the responsibility of parenthood.

I hope my son (now almost 21) will take his time establishing his career, getting married and bonding with his wife as a couple, and getting settled prior to starting a family.

There are too many grandparents and other relatives having to raise another set of babies because "girls" (as you put it in your question) are becoming mothers before they become wives or even women.

If I had planned better, I'd have waited until after 23. I understand that young parenting is common, and even possibly trendy these days, but 23 is a perfectly normal and reasonable age to be and still not have kids. :)

Well i am 22 and out of all my friends I am the only one with a baby so i think it is really normal not to have kids when you are 23.

You can only be a parent when you are ready. It is otherwise unfair to the child. Some people are ready for the responsibility and are good at others are not. It is a choice you make for yourself not by looking at what other people are doing. If you could handle it go for it if not wait. There is no set time to have a child. They are miracles and deserve to have parents that will always treat them as such. Hope this helped.

It neither normal or abnormal. It depends on the individual person. The question is too vague.

Many 23 year old are mature enough to have kids.
Others are not!
