I think it would have been a strong possibility, especially if it had been blatant.

Congrats Jeff Gordon and Kyle Busch followers!! i'm happy Jeff received it, he deserved it. To be truthful with you, i'd not concepts seeing Jeff Gordon in victory lane, and thats defiantly a probability, yet that is Daytona, and something can and could happen.

No, but there would have been very serious repercussions
against Kyle back in the Hendrick's camp and they might
even carry on to the team that Kyle's going to next year.
Especially after Gordon was told to let Kyle pass him if he
was that much faster.

I don't think he would have fired Kyle this close to the end of the season and having Kyle in the chase also. But he probably would have been very mad at him and sat him down to have a talk with him. And Gordon.... well he would have been made too. But hey, Kyle's team mates hung him out to dry in Dega, so who would have cared if he would had wrecked Gordon? Seems like Kyle has nobody to rely on but himself these days.

No. He doesn't want his drivers wrecking each other, but three of them, Kyle included, are trying for the championship. He wants them to be competitive, and would have been just as happy if Kyle won as he would if Jeff or Jimmie won.
Personally, I think the points race will be close again after Texas, and I hope the Drive for Five stays alive for at least ten more years. I don't want to hear "Six for Rick's"

Heres the problem with all you Gordon haters. You hate how successful he is. How he can do things with a car no one else can, how he can pass jimmie johnson on the last lap at dega and win the race. You all ***** and moan cause he is a class act individual. Busch was a class act last night so was bowyer, why? because Gordon is a class act driver that they respect. Not like your most popular driver Dale Jr. Jr spins busch out at kansas then bitches that Gordon gave him a tap last night? LIKE his father never did anything like that...hmm i remember Sr at Bristol taking out Terry Labonte. Your arguments on why Jeff isnt a good driver have become old and stale. I dont like Tom Brady but i sure respect his abilities and respect what he has done for the sport and you people need to give Gordon his props.

You don't understand much about Nascar. The drivers have a contract. An owner cannot fire a driver on the spot.An owner might decide to do away with his car. But he would be paid untill his contract was over.

Wouldn't surprise me.

Because, you know, heaven forbid anything happen to Rick Hendrick's "Golden Boy".

The way Rick treats Kyle sickens me. I hate how he favors Jeff and Jimmie.

Kyle should have taken Jeff out when he had the chance, just to piss old Hendrick off.

Kyle deserved to win that race but he was told to "take it easy".

I can't wait for '08. I hope Gibbs has the trio to beat next year but we'll see.

No i don't think so. If he did that it would be bad financially for both parties. I do wish Kyle would have been a little more aggressive like he has in the past. Oh well another race, another HMS driver wins, how boring is that!!!!
