In a congregational prayer is it required to prayer towards Qibla or is it ok to ignore? I say it should be observed, but I'm not a scholar, that's why I'm asking. . . Thank you. Jezak Allah khairan.

Every Prayers including Janaza, Eid, Taraveeh & Normal Prayers must be prayed towards Qibla (Khane-Kaaba). It is the very first thing required for Prayers.!.

Eid and all daily prayers are done facing Qibla. It is a symble that all Muslims of entire world believe that Mohammad is Messenger of God and they worship one and only God whom all Prophets did worship.

Qibla is one of the requirements of the Salaat.

Yes; you dont have to pray it though (not fard) but it is very recommended.
