Not at all. I've seen many beautiful women that I've complimented I wouldn't bed; I've commented to some nice-looking women that they looked beautiful as a friendly compliment without that interest. There are some guys that will say anything and mean nothing, just as there are some that will go to bed with any female with a pulse.

I never liked it when men told me I was beautiful. It's one thing to say you look lovely or pretty, that's more of a compliment, but when someone tells you that you are beautiful, it's almost intrusive, and that should only be said between lovers as far as I'm concerned. It always made me feel very uncomfortable when someone said it out of the blue, so in a way you are not far off the mark.

It's one thing to say you LOOK beautiful and quite another to say you ARE beautiful.

I'm not a guy but I can tell you from a woman's point of view that it takes a lot more lies then that to get most self respecting women between the sheets. That line is as old as the hills and has not worked in a very long time. Any woman worth her weight in gold knows she is pretty and doesn't need any horny man to tell her that.

this is such a loaded question...

it sounds like youre already in doubt of male chivalry and gentlemen-ness. Are you a "man-hater" ??? Reason I ask is this: ive found that the people who ask this question have already been wronged to a point where they have no faith in men and wont even hear an intelligent argument to their way of thinking.

to answer your question, NO.

but (just to contradict myself and play with your head...) yeah, like the age old saying goes, girls need a reason, guys just need a place.

Sadly, its the dirty, sleazy, sleep with anything on two legs-type of guys that make the most noise, draw the most attention and leave the (wrong) lasting impressions, while the good guys are the quiet, reserved type that dont attract much attention. At least in my opinion...

Not necessarily. Some women are beautiful for other reasons then sex. I have known some women that were strong willed that were beautiful in their determination.

I honestly think it depends on the maturity level of the guy. If you are talking about the guys that are in the "I'm-so-horny-I'd-stick-it-in-a-meat-grinder" age, then yes. However, men who are a little more mature can appreciate a pretty woman without thinking, "I want to bang her". They can say, "yeah, she's pretty" and leave it at that.

No, guys can tell a girl that she looks beautiful w/o expecting sex in return. he might be but he isn't always thinking about that if he tells a girl she's beautiful.

Of course he would sleep with her, But it MAY mean he's just paying her an innocent compliment.
