What is that I hear? Free will. Well that seems to be the answer for everything. Are you trying to tell me that God could not create us with free will and at the same time protect kids from getting molested and abused. Hell he would not even have to protect kids from getting abused if he desiged us different.
If the answer is free will then perhaps God is not All powerful? Because you are saying that free will causes child suffering and God can do nothing about it. If you still contend that he is all powerful,w well then perhaps God is not All good? How can an all good being sit back and watch kids be tortured.
God of love? What a joke!

I love st. Bonafice - Yeah right, thanks for increasing my understanding. If I wasn`t mistaken it seems like you and your God just dodged the question.

St. Bonafice - Nice try. If evil is necessary as you say in some way then why does it exceed a soul building minimum. In other words if evil is necessary on this so called journey then why must it be so GREAT? What God could not have stop the sperm from fertlizing the egg that made Hitler? Plus you said that God does not intefere. Well if that is the case then why do people pray? The answer is simple. God does NOT exist.

Karen - Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. The question is about your God, nice try trying to deflect blame on me. I didn`t create this world nor am I responsible for the sufffering in it. Your God if he exists which he does not obviously would.

American Des - Congratulations! You`re an idiot. I`m not mad at God, why because God does not exist. God is said to be an, All powerful - All Good - All knowing being. Therefore the problem of Evil contradicts the claim that he is all powerful and all good. Pick up a philosophy book and you might understand where I`m coming from. Unitl then shut the hell up.

You have a flawed understanding of God and how he works in our lives.
God did not create a perfect world. The more perfect exists alongside the less perfect. Nature has both constructive and destructive forces. Physical good will always be mixed with physical evil until creation reaches perfection. Why then did God create a world in a state of journeying? So that we could be co-creators in perfecting our world and share our blessings and sufferings with others. Much of our suffering is due to our failure to heed the commandment to love one another. Suffering is a call to love one another.
Suffering is also our ticket to heaven. We must learn how to love unselfishly because love not only heals and nourishes those who suffer but also redeems us. Suffering then is a necessary part of life because without out it we would effectively be like spoiled children not truly loving God out of our own free will.
That’s why God does not seem to interfere in our lives. He has a plan for us to get to heaven and he does not want to make changes in that plan. But we certainly can (and should) pray that this plan includes the special favors that we ask of Him. His plan takes into account all of the free-will choices that we make, including how much we pray and how diligently we try to follow His commands. By all means talk to God all the time about a happier life here on earth

My situation is, i am homeless and I now know that what I counted on to possibly bring me out of my situation is not real, and I will remain homeless, in and out of shelters. Everywhere I turn, I hear christian say 'Pray about it,' or 'Don't let Satan use you,' and it's consistent-but these same Christians cannot help me-they give me things they themselves would not want-bad housing, spoiled food, old clothes, and so on. I have never taken drugs, or sold them, never prostituted my body, or done anything illegal-but I am still living this life where I feel God has forsaken me. For the record, I was molested and raped as a child, and neither my mother or my other family believed me. I have tried to believe God since I was 9, but this question that this man asked is one that I want answers to, myself. I cannot figure out how other people's sin are the reason why kids have to suffer, and what's worst is, when these freaks do this to innocent babies-they go to jail, find Jesus, get forgiveness, and that's it. What about the kids they hurt? What about that? I have a hard time believing any God can allow for kids to be slighted, and turn around and forgive the people who did it. I do not think there is a God. Couldn't be. That's all I have to say.

I don't understand that myself sometimes.
There have been times when I thought God was being mean cause everyone was making him so mad!
I don't know.
I do know that Something or One of the universe has care, and escape, and protection, and justice.
And, as many evildoers as there are out there, there are 3 or 4 who will do you some good, and dress your wounds, or give you their smile, you just have to see it through the clouds.
I lost a 17 year old daughter to an evil accident, I really wish God wouldn't have taken her, but it was part of life.
There have been molester perverts since Uncles' were invented. (no offense to good uncles)
It is like saying nothing bad should happen on the Earth. I wish it could be like that too.
Sometimes there are individuals driven my meanness or evil or whatever, but they may not be fully human-hearted, and will not have a fulfilling nor joyful existence.
Karma will win. Broken-hearted will be healed.

It all has to do with our obedience, have you ever been in need of money for a good reason like rent, or other payment and pray but don't get it? well, the only way God can answer is thru other people like your boss who pays you every friday or his disobedience and not giving you that raise that God told him to give you, get the point? well, have you ever seen how when somebody is speeding but sees a cop and quickly slows down? well if people would obey The Lord and not leave helpless children unattended things like that wouldn't happen, or say the Lord is telling you go upstairs and see what those unattended children are doing, or do you really trust that adult with that child alone upstairs? So what do people do? I'll go check on them on the next commercial, or boy this couch is very comfortable I think I'll take a nap. All these type of things are contributors with our disobedience and children getting molested or when your in church and the pastor is picking up a money offering, what are we thinking as The Lord is telling us give that ten dollars?, we are thinking after this I'm going to Jack's to eat or something like that. All examples of disobedience and why crime happens.

God created humans as 'responsible' being with free will, not as robots. Are you expecting God to interfere in 'everything' a man does everyday, every minute? From what to eat, when to wake up, when to take a bath, what clothes to wear? Free will means we are responsible for our actions, and along with that responsibility comes accountability.
Do you think child abuse and molestation are 'evil'? Some people may not believe in good and evil, but evil is present in this world. Don't blame God for things people CHOSE to do out of their evil desires. Those who are not for God are against Him. Those who are not His children are sons of darkness. People who do these things to children, I would say are people who do not REALLY fear God, who do not have the indwelling spirit of God for they do not have goodness and self-control (the fruits of the holy spirit). If they do not even recognize God in their life, how can they recognize the Holy Spirit, or even their conscience stopping them from doing those things?

Why are you so angry? Maybe you need a god so you can have someone to be angry at!
let me just ask you, how much sense would it make if someone robbed a bank and the police blamed you because you happened to be driving by?
I don't necessarily believe in a god, but I do think it's a pathetic excuse people use to delude themselves about a little thing called REALITY. Sure, stop blaming the rapist because GOD made him that way, right? And he couldn't help raping that kid, he had nothing to do with it. Let's all just stomp our feet and scream to the clouds, because it's all GOD'S fault! Meanwhile the bastard is getting away with raping a child because people like you lose focus. Put the dude in prison and make raping/molesting a child an executable offense. That's right, I said it- DEATH PENALTY.
Sometimes you just have to quit whining and be practical about things.

God does care about children who are abused. God is separated from us because of our sins. He does allow us to make decisions. It is not God who does this but mankind and Satan. Please don't misunderstand, God will punish those who harm his children. All children are Gods children. When the molesters and abusers have to stand before the Great White Judgment Seat they will answer for what they have done. As all of us will have to. God knows what is happening and the Bible says that this is like the time of Noah.

What we do know is that when God does Act.. it wont be a Moment too soon. We Humans wants everything instantly, well we just have to stay tuned for the final assault against all Wickedness.

Hey Grimey,
This world belong to Satan and he is its god.
Adam & Eve gave Satan authority over themselves by rebeling against God's sovernity.
Thus telling God they have no need for Him, for they can decide for themselves, as to what is good or bad.
God had legal rights to have put them to death immedately for their error, but He showed love and mercy by allowing them to prove to themselves that they can't do well without Him.
The alotted time for the works of Satan and wicked men is near expiration, the world is soon to change under the rule of God's messianic king Jesus Christ.
And the seventh angel blew his trumpet. And loud voices occurred in heaven saying: "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He will rule as King for ever and ever." ~ Revelation 11:15

If there is a God, then he obviously made us with free will. Do get in the way of a child suffering would be to impugn on his/her free will, as well as the person causing the suffering. I think this has nothing to do with being all-powerful. The idea of his creations having free will contradicts his so called "omnipotence".
But since I don't believe in God......my personal answer is.....There is no arguement about free will because there is no God.
Edit: I don't see the flaw here. I am stating that if we did not have free will, we'd all be a bunch of mindless drones walking around. If I want to walk up to someone and slap them in the face for no reason, I will do it. Why? Because I wanted to and I had the free will to do so. Granted, its disrespectful, but why would God stop me just because its wrong? To get in the way of free will is to remove our rights. Period.
Yes, I agree that child molestation is wrong, and I don't want it to continue (and if there is a God, I bet he feels the same way too), but the cold hard fact is.......it will continue because everyone has free will. What's the freggin' mystery?

God is all powerful but He still cannot interfere in humans' decisions of free will. Our decisions of free will are totally OUR responsibility, not God's, and that is what makes us free. If God said "you have the right to choose between good and evil, but whenever you choose evil I'll jump in and make sure nobody gets hurt", then we wouldn't have free will at all. No-one could choose to murder or steal or cheat on their wives or molest children. Evil simply wouldn't exist, we would not be free, and therefore we would not be human, but simply smart animals. And therefore we would not be created in God's image and likeness, and would not have eternal life. I'm thankful for God's greatest gift of love - freedom - even if it does mean that people suffer when some of us use our freedom to reject God's will and choose evil.
