free? In this world? no. Try paying about 15% tax for all this 'free stuff'.

Beleive it or not, there are a lot of countries around the world with 100% free health care. Canada is one of them but there is a catch, they pay higher prices on taxes and insurances to make up for not paying for health care so it all works out the same.

Not really. There are things that are not covered, like drugs and medecines.
And technically, eyeglasses and dentists services are health care, and those are not covered.
For the rest, it is supposed to be universally accessible.
But in the end it is NOT free. We pay for it through taxes.
So it is free only for those without an income, who do not pay taxes.
Still, it is a better system. The problem are the waiting lists; but that is another debate.

No it's not free at all, I have to pay taxes for it. ;P
Anyway, certain things aren't 100% covered, which often become election issues, like autistic kids, prescription drugs, dental and eye care.

Visits to the doctor are free, and so is surgery if it's done at a public hospital/clinic (there are some private clinics if you want to cut your waiting time). Prescriptions aren't 100% covered though.
