seriously do you actually look for a good personality in a girl? or are looks the deciding factor in a relationship?

Looks are great for attracting attention, but personality is the deal killer. (Looks don't hurt for keeping attention, either.) Things that will turn me off pretty quickly:
-Gross immodesty
-Drunkenness
-Selfishness
-Dishonesty
-Manipulativeness
-Excessive gossiping
-Low intelligence

Seriously. Personality. Looks play a part, but that doesn't mean guys will only pay attention to a "hottie".
If the girl is pleasant looking, cute and presentable, then personality is the deciding factor. See the answer from k9guy07.

I can't speak for every guy, but I do need a girl with a great personality. Although looks do matter, if the girl has a personality that just plain sucks, I don't want anything to do with her. I'd rather have an average looking girl who makes life enjoyable, is fairly smart and can get my lame jokes most of the time than a Double-D goddess who treats me like crap and is as stupid as a brick. lol.

Many things--it's the whole package and what's right for me isn't right for everyone else because that person is special in my eyes. As for having types, I think people have preferences and tendencies and some people work, others don't. I believe two people can love each other dearly and yet the relationship is too problematic to keep it going, they're not compatible or there are too many internal problems.

Personality. Looks honestly do play a small factor but...
here is my example:
Girl A
Lingerie Model
Pretty dumb
Can't hold a conversation
Girl B
Dorky looking girl
Average height, average weight
Can talk to me all night.
Girl C
Girl B but chubby and/or tall.
I would pick girl B. I mean, I'm not overweight, so I don't wanna date someone else overweight... but they DEFINATELY have to have a personality, not just looks... Looks fade.

Here's how I do it much more efficiently, I make a mental note of all the girls who have hot looks, then I start picking out the ones who have both their hot looks, and a matching personality.

Personality and being able to have a conversation are what I think are the most important... But looks are more important than I'd like to admit even to myself... I'm so shallow!

why would you have a relationship with someone who you didnt like their personality. looks are the first thing that catches your attention. but a personality pulls you in, if you are looking for a relationship.
