As usual there are no rumors to rattle his cage with and he is so kicked back he doesn't show the intensity of other drivers but it is there.

Wiz got it right, the ESPN team covers only the Chase drivers and the most popular driver (Junior). The other 30 cars on the track are little more than obstacles, not to be mentioned until they either wreck or get up to the top five.
Try tracking someone like Martin, Labonte, Sadler, or Biffle during the next race. You'll see that it doesn't matter what they do -- put on a dramatic charge through the field, or suddenly fall back twenty spots -- the broadcast idiots will NOT say a word about them until they get to the front, wreck, or do something else that affects the Blessed 13.
The Chase has forced them to expand their coverage. They used to just talk about the top five, plus the #8 and the #24. So this is an improvement!

Ryan Newman is better than the numbers he has as of late I also have met Ryan , and his wife a couple of times. Good people great driver. One hell of a move tonight before the tire blew.
You can see that Rusty is "trying" to save face, but it's useless. The coverage is biased. He is the smartest of all of them, thats why the media can't rattle him.

GOOD QUESTION!!!!
He is a strong FAST driver......he's had 42 poll positions in his career and damn near wins every week but is robbed of the win by some misfortune with his car or wrecks....
My husband is a Hardcore Newman fan.....he is strong, fast, & consistent but he swears they get paid to cover the bigger sponsors....Alltell doesnt pay Nascar as much as say Lowes or Home Depot!!! So they dont get as much coverage on air as say Johnson, Gordon, Stewart and so on...plus he isnt in the chase so alot of non-chase contenders are being over looked with on-air coverage...no matter how well they run or finish!!!
GO HARVICK & RCR!!!

I'm not sure what race coverage you watch. Rocket gets a fair amount of race coverage. They were all over him during qualifying Thursday and did a cutaway to him during tonight's race.
He's not done too bad for coverage for a guy who has obviously qualified well but hasn't won this year. To his credit, I;ve seen him interviewed after wrecks and he's handled it like a pro.

It might just be that ALLTEL car running in the NEXTEL series. We've seen how much Nextel likes having AT&T around, so seeing that Alltel car up front must drive the Nextel execs completely nutso. Just a thought.

He's not the coverage just sucks. Less than 5 minutes of post race coverage is not acceptable.
