2 Corinthians 10
speaks of strongholds, this is caused when you are involved in activities that do not glorify God.
It can be music, sex, drugs any thing that can attach itself to you to cause self destruction. When you want to let go you realize that it has become an obsession (stronghold) it has now taken control of you. I don't know how knowledgable you are about prayer and renouncing activities as these, you may want to get a bible and read the book of 2 CORINTHIANS
chapter 4, verse 2. also ask God to help you to renew your mind of these strongholds in the book of ROMANS chapter 12, verse 2 the word tells us
to be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
these promises are true because it is the word of God. You must make an effort and truly desire to be set free from activities that can harm you and not edify you. attending a local church that teaches the word of God will also help you and ask for prayer and counseling by the pastor it"s all free.

They had music videos in the early 70's?
I guess it's true. The memory is the first thing to go. As for Queen, their music was light years ahead of its time. Brian May was and still is an awesome guitarist and innovator of sound effects. Maybe that's why they're so hard to get out of your system. Freddie Mercury had a very troubled childhood as was evident in songs like "Bohemian Rhapsody", and was a ridiculously talented vocalist. Anyone who can step on a stage in front of 30,000 people in pink tights and put on a performance like he did is truly a star in their own right.

I know a friend who is very engrossed in the music of HIM, which is also very gloomy and depressing. The music still brings him down a little, but it's really just something you need to deal with on the inside. I don't think Freddie Mercury or Queen is causing these feelings, it's probably just helping with bringing them into the open.

You must have an extensive library from all those books you've read just by looking at the covers. I've yet to know an talented artist who did not have a tortured life one way or the other.
It's your personal choice - you don't need any religious form of purge other than to - maybe - donate your collection to a charity so someone can benifit.

I think that, if this is your own personal hell, then you should walk all the way through it. You won't be done with it until you've literally done all of it. good luck.
