if you are a jehovah witness, and knew that a fellow sister in the congregation was attracted to girls, would you be friends with her? Even if she was trying hard to ignore these feelings. Would you socialize with her?

Yes, many or most girls among Jehovah's Witnesses would be comfortable being friends with a person who might potentially be physically attracted to them.
If not, no girl could have a male friend.

Hi, Im a JW, so atleast im a ''credible'' source. ha. Im a 16 years old brother but i have some advice. There was an Awake article on having these types of thoughts a few months ago. I fotgot which one it was, but you should do research on it. All i can say is that if your honestly trying hard to fight off these thoughts and your praying to Jehovah for help, than thats all you need. As for the other sisters in the congregation, they should be there to support you and encourage you. Also, you should go to someone close to you for help, probably another sister that you can trust. And if things are the same, then you should go to the elders in your congregation for help, they are there to help you. Remember, you havent acted on whats in your mind, so you havent gravely sinned yet. But you do recognize that these thoughts are improper. I hope things go good for you and i'll pray for you.
And also, you really shouldn't be here on yahoo asking for ''christian'' advice on such a serious subject. ha

Honestly, I am a brother. I don't care what deep dark problems a person has. If they are nice to me, and our personalities mesh, and they are striving to serve Jehovah I would be glad to consider them friend.
That said, if I knew a person had a specific weakness I wouldn't try to push on it.
Example, I've known sisters who had a strong , um, drive. Knowing this I am still just as much their friend, I try to make sure I am not alone with them, or in any way that I know of compromising their integrity.
As rare an event as it is, I do agree with Jabbers that you should be careful with what image you display, or what you claim on the net.

What does Romans say about Judgment? Aren't we called to Love before all things, and he is without sin, should cast the first stone....I was a Witness for 22 years and it is the most judgmental arrogant religion that I have ever encountered.
Now that I am a christian, I have read the bible, and I have found that we are called to love and to let god be the judge...Wouldn't the world be a much better place if we were all more Christlike...It is time for you to find real truth dear, and may God bless you.
Edit...for your own safety, I would take down our picture and put up an avatar...It is much safer...This is the internet, and there are perverts out there.... ; )

hello. i know well how it goes with you jehovah's witness people. my whole family is of that religion. look ur friend is probably a teenager and its absolutely normal for her to feel this even tho she knows its wrong. if she is truely trying to avoid it then she is doing the right thing. you should be friends with her because jehova doesnt want you to turn ur back on her, but to lead her and show her the right way. jehovah wants you to help her like his son jesus did. didnt jesus help people who didnt even deserve help? didnt he help people who were trying to kill him? jehovah wants us to be more like jesus. so dont turn ur back on ur friend. she'll find wats right..

I think you should. She isn't acting on these homosexual feelings. She is most likely going through a very hard time trying to deal with this and needs friends and guidance. Be there to support her.

God can help you overcome this issue. Homosexuality is not God's design to your life. However, we all fall short from the glory of God and God sees as His children and not sexual beings.
If you are not interested in men, be single.

People can't help being gay, Im sick of you religions thinking that all gays are sinners and wrong, they arent. If you ask me I think all you guys are wrong. By the way my ex was a JW (reason why i left her) and one of her good friends was gay. So just cuz someone is gay does not mean you cannot be friends with them.
*EDIT* oh you are gay? Well theres nothing wrong with that, dont let your religion tell you that its wrong.
