68 points up on Johnson now.

Jr next year? That's a pretty good joke. Just because he's going to Hendrick does not change his inability to drive a car.

Always thought he was "the man". But, I got a little pissed when for the first half of the race the cameras were on Dale Jr. What for? He's not competitive, and is not in the chase, and finished somewhere "back there". Next year Jeff and Dale will be teammates, which should be interesting. Then maybe while they have the cameras on Dale we can watch Jeff drive by him.

May the best man win and looks like 24 is the best man. Jr is an ok driver but not going to be a top anything till his fans ease off the pressure that he is supposed to be as great as his dad.

Even if Johnson wins at the end of the season so does Gordon cause he owns the car.

He'll never be the man.

Not in my opinion.

There are drivers out there who don't race anymore but will always be the best like Richard Petty.

This race made realize how much I despise Rick Hendrick and Jeff Gordon.

I'm still pissed that Rick told Kyle to not wreck Jeff (which is a given, Rick, any driver would know not to do that because it could end badly for both drivers) and to take it easy. And who knows what the hell else Rick was telling him off the air.

It made me realize how much I hate Rick Hendrick and how he favors Jeff and Jimmie over Kyle and Casey. That's real nice. These guys are ALL your boys, you should treat them as equals and not as though two of them are more superior than the others.

Kyle could of had a possible win tonight had it not been for his stupid car owner.

I'm glad Kyle will be at Joe Gibbs next year. At least, he won't have to deal with this favoring crap from Hendrick anymore. Hendrick's firing of Kyle is his lost and Joe Gibbs gain.

He'll regret that decision when Junior will still be on his winless streak in '08.

I think Jeff Gordon fans are conceited.
If he was the "man" he would have the most wins. He's got a long way to catch "The King" at 200 total wins. Just don't think he'll get there before the end of his career.

That's one of the reasons I really want Gordon to win the cup.
It'll be his fifth and then Hendrick can give Jr. the best cars
in the stable to try and win the cup next year.

My exact thoughts...in the first 30 laps his name was mentioned 40 times .. kept the cameras on him constantly...seems as if there is no one else of importance in the race...the other guys don't sell enough trinkets, caps etc...they just ***** about how Earnhardt Sr. would have annihilated Jeff if he hadn't met his demise...they don't count the years Sr. drove before Jeff was even a teenager...name another driver who won 13 races in one season? and 10 twice in one season...

You know what's really ironic, is that next year when Junior is racing for HMS, I think Truex is gonna be running them all down. DEI has got a lot going on with this chase contender, and he has learned enough this year to make him a contender for the cup in '08.

Ummm just because he has that lead now doesnt mean it's sticking. 68 points is like 5 points. he can finish 10th or 20th and be 4th in points

anyway we all know he isnt gonna win
cus it's all about Kenseth, and Johnson.

Next Year D Earnhardt Jr. of course

Yea well let's test it on Gordon. Send him to MWR
see how he does, crappy. no offense to MWR fans he just doesnt have the gear . if gordon didnt have the gear he has it he wouldn't be a 4 time champion

so shut your mouth

Jeff Gordon will never be the man. As long as Dale is still racing he is nothing.
