keith olbermann is the biggest hack in news for that statement. DOs are fully licensed physicians in all fields of medicine, can prescribe medicines, perform surgeries and have the same capabilities of any "MD"

This is the unfortunate thing about broadcasting and the media. Someone doesn't know what the hell he's talking about, but because he's who he is, everybody says " If so and so said this, thatn it must be true."
I agree with you. DO, MD, except for the title, there's no difference.
In the field of dentistry, there are DDS's and DMD's. No difference.
