do you believe that the universe has always been in constant motion and that there has never been a beginning but rather the universe is an infinite series?

ummm.... scientists actually don't know that much about the big bang besides the fact that if it had ever occured, that general relativity and quantum mechanics don't explain it and get invalid results....

The Big Bang would count as a beginning, so I am a "no" on that.

Has the present universe itself always existed? I don't think so...but I do feel that energy or matter has always existed in some form or another. Perhaps there is an infinite cycle of universes expanding and collapsing upon themselves...maybe matter was in a different state before the Big Bang...anything is possible. But I think that *something* always was around.

I admit that I don't know. I don't think anyone really does. Keep in mind, however, that admitting you don't know the answer to something is what opens the door to gaining knowledge. If I were to say, "Well, God did it," that slams the door to other possiblities. Plus, I've always found the "God did it" response to be rather a sort of cop-out. It can be applied to everything!

I've seen one poster, many months ago, put it in a rather interesting way: "(Insert name of God here) did it in (insert magical method described in your faith's Bible)."

Why are my sheets blue? Because God did it. Ridiculous? Sure: I'm trying to make a point, and blowing it out of proportion helps. If someone was unaware of the process of using dyes and had no other explaination... God did it.

Why is the sky blue? God made it that way. Sure, and all that we now know about elements and how rays of light reflect different aspects of the color spectrum has nothing to do with it.

How did our world come to be? God did it as it says in the Bible. Nevermind the fossil records that clearly show Genesis was way off the mark. Nevermind the evidence that our world isn't yet done changing.

Knowledge is limitless! But it all begins by one simple admission: I don't know.

It depends on each of us, for my part i think that the big bang is just a local event, and that the universe as a whole is cyclical, with localized big bangs and crunchs, though this is speculative at best.

There was a Big Bang, so no..

How long the universal singularity existed before the Big Bang, I don't know.

God is antecedent to time and space. Time and space, primary components to the material universe as we know it, are causations to his infinity of will. To God, he has no beginning nor ending. However, to us, the universe has a beginning, just as we do when we begin our life on this world. His infinity goes beyond all that is material, and the problem we face is that the material is all that we know.

Some claim that there is a beginning while others claim that the universe was always there. It is more complicated to understand unless you are an astrophysicist

It is one or the other. It will always be a great wonder to me. I will never try to explain it away with an intelligent creator theory.

Even scientists will tell you that there a was a big bang from nothing. And we have all this something out of nothing. I rest my case your honour.
