NO, it will NOT grow back thicker. But if you have thick hair to begin with, it may APPEAR to be growing back thicker, because the base where it's cut is just the thickest part of the hair follicle.

I don't know about your lip, but everyone told me if I shaved my arms it would come back thicker and darker. Well then I shaved my arms for like two years. Then I quit like three years ago and the hair on my arms is normal. Not darker, or thicker. I think that whole darker thicker stuff is just a myth. If it isn't true about legs and arms and armpits, why would it be true about your upper lip.
I will say, you should probably wax instead of shave though.

ok. just from experience... if you shave your upper lip the hair WILL NOT grow back thicker and darker. same thing about between the eyebrows... they have out this lotion now that if you want to shave your upper lip the lotion has natural chemicals in it that help reduce the growing process and after a few days of using it the hair becomes finer and you see a lot less of it. if you want to wax that's fine. but shaving is cheaper and its not like the myth goes.

Have you ever shaved your legs? Remember how at first it didn't come out that stubbly? It'll come out like that until it becomes a routine thing, such as shaving your legs, and then it'll come out prickly, kind of like your legs.
And as far as color, it'll turn a grayish tone...maybe you've seen a guy right after he shaves and he still has that gray looking area where he shaved? It'll look like that. Not cute ):
I don't recommend shaving your upper lip, you'll have to do it everyday, and all it will lead to is even more stubborn (and visible) hairs. Waxing or threading are long lasting and leave a smooth surface.
Hope I helped (: Just please don't raise a raiser to the lip, stay feminine!

It's not a rumor, its true. Why do you think guys have such thick facial hair? Each time you shave, wherever that might be, the hair gets darker, and thicker.

The hair will get thicker maybe not noticeably after one time but it will if you keep doing it, it will definetly get thicker. If you have hair on your top lip as most women do have it waxed bc it last longer and it pulls from the root, so it wont grow back as thick.

ITS A LIE when they say if you shave then your hair will grow in thicker! It would have grown in that thick anyway.. i mean look at the guy's legs who DONT shave their legs & its just as thick.. they did a study, so yes it was proven.. lol..
go ahead and shave.. or bleach..
if i had hair there, id prolly wax it though.

nothing will happen. Ive been shaving mine since i was about 12 (im 19 now) and everything is perfectly fine. I dont like wax. As long as you dont do it every day you should be fine! Do it about once every 2 weeks.
