Before I answer this question I want to comment on the answer given by “unfit_commander”. Why don’t you calm down a bit? We are not in the 17th century any more, this is the 21st century. While neither men nor women are suppose to have pre-marital sex according to God's law, people often forget that fact and make mistakes by giving in to their hormones or peer pressure. But that or any other mistake or sin cannot separate us from God. “unfit_commander,” do you really have so much hatred towards sinners or imperfect people? Are you really perfect? You must be as good as God. If you have a bible, look up John 8:7
But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her."
God has NO LIMIT to His forgiveness. He will forgive ANYONE that truly is sorry and repents to Him (not to Mary or some priest). ANYONE is welcome to the Lord. Jesus endured tremendous humiliation, torture and then died a painful death on the cross to save us. Do you think that His sacrifice was not enough to save anyone?

Now, for the answer to the question: No, not most Christian women are virgins prior to the marriage. It would be the right thing to do as God wants us to; but NO ONE is perfect not even our friend “unfit_commander”. May the Lord give that person wisdom so that he/she will see God as He is.

Sexuality is a part of the human make-up and being a virgin until marriage is a goal, but not attainable by a lot of women (or men). It would be difficult to know who is a virgin and who is not, so where ever the statement that MOST Christian women are virgins makes one wonder how that statistic was decided. And by whom?
Hopefully, people won't marry until after they have developed emotionally and physically. Being a virgin should not enter into the picture (i.e. don't shame the woman) unless it is a religious requirement. And what about the man? Who takes away the virginity? Come on, now, let's not focus on only one, when it takes two.

Well, if they are following the guidelines of their faith, they are supposed to be. But Christians aren't perfect, just sinners forgiven and saved by the grace of Jesus, and sex outside of marriage is one of many sins that they may give in to the temptation of.
There have been some recent movements such as True Love Waits within the Christian faith to encourage abstinence and promote sexual purity prior to marriage. Some teens make purity pledges, and/or even wear a purity ring to symbolize their commitment to abstain from sex until marriage.
Sadly, I don't know if I would even say "most" are. The statistical % of women who remain virgins prior to marriage is probably about the same or slightly higher for Christians compared to the general population of other women within the same region or country.

In this day and age, I'd say that "most" isn't true. Maybe "some". I'm Christian and I'm not a virgin. As a Christian, I feel it's wrong, and I made a mistake, but I'm human. Any virgin over 18 is hard to find these days. I guess it also depends on your term of Christian. They can be practicing or non-practicing.

confident.. in spite of the indisputable fact that it is going to take plenty harder paintings than regular (i.e. than in case you the two accompanied God's word and waited.) the foremost subject right here may well be forgiveness. Is he keen to wholeheartedly forgive you on your previous blunders/ sins? He must be elementary. If he would be unable to, then he's not being as forgiving as our faith demands, and he won't be waiting to absolutely love you as God's introduction. That dating could have plenty extra stressful circumstances to triumph over. yet another subject may well be: have you ever admitted your mistake? To him and to a clergyman? have you ever essentially grew to become away out of your mistake and repented for it? Are you actual attempting to grow to be a extra advantageous individual now? if so, then you definitely've have been given no longer something keeping you returned from transforming into to be solid returned. you may get right into a typical, healthful and God-honoring dating. If issues do no longer paintings out, then i'm sorry.. existence is somewhat like that. no longer truthfully everyone seems to be super at forgiving. I purely wish which you in no way ignore that issues can nonetheless paintings out for you. There nonetheless are solid human beings in this international, and that i'm effective there are men (%. purely one, in spite of the undeniable fact that, ahaha) available who're able to forgiving your sexual blunders and then proceed to having a remarkable existence with you. :)

Christians believe in saving yourself for marriage so many are virgins prior to marriage due to their beliefs while some are not because they've fallen into temptation or they made mistakes before they were a Christian or even during they're walk with God, but if they repent and ask God to forgive them, are truly sorry and change their ways it dosnt make them bad christians or a "whore" we're all sinners

Probably depends on their country of origin. I remember an American study published a little while back in which 95% of respondents said they had had premarital sex. Considering the fact that the majority of Americans claim to be Christians, then there are probably many females who proclaim themselves Christian and engage in premarital sex. Western Europe is probably very similar. Latin Americans, though Catholic, also have large numbers of women engaging in premarital sex (most Costa Ricans had lost their virginity by age 15). In stricter cultures, perhaps the numbers are lower...or the reported numbers are lower anyway.

According to the Bible, that is how it is meant to be. Obviously, not every woman that "says" they are a Christian commits to purity. As for it being "most", I actually have no idea what the true percentage is... As for me, I am a Christian and I am keeping myself pure for marriage, and I know countless other Christian women who are doing the same. Trust me, they're out there. :)

maybe 50+ years ago! lol

seriously....it's a personal choice that some women...Christian or not...choose to make. I would venture to say that most are NOT virgins before marriage.
