Led by the Carpenter by D. James Kennedy
The Case For Christ by Lee Strobel
Why I Believe by D. James Kennedy
The Signature Of God by Grant R. Jeffery
There is a little booklet by Joyce Meyer called The Most Important Decision You Will Ever Make. It is about understanding what it means to accept Christ. That might be a good place to start. I'm not a fan of Left Behind. You might want to check out this link http://endtimepilgrim.org/corrie.htm
I highly recommend each of these but as a new Christian she needs to be sure to read the Bible as well. God bless!!

The Left Behind series are great books. The rapture is one of the most believed prophecies in the Bible. There are different beliefs because the prophecies are not clear about a lot of things. I believe the reason for them being left unclear is so no one can know for sure when or how it will take place.
God's reasons for doing things the way He does are His alone, however it is certain that He knows exactly what He is doing. And if a person tries to figure out God's plan and can't, well I am not sure God would want that type of person in the New Kingdom. It has to be by faith, why you may ask ? I don't know, nor do I care, my only concern is that I somehow fall into the grace of God and am given a chance to be used as a servant of our Lord and savior Jesus the messiah. And that by some amazing grace, God will see it to be good to forgive such a sinner as I am. Don't get me wrong, I am not practicing sin, I am only a man who cannot help but to fall short of the standards of an all mighty God.
So read the Left Behind books and enjoy them. I did.
Agape,
A servant of the Lord Jesus,

First off she must give her life to God to become a Christian. The first book she should read is the bible. I have read the left behind series but the first book she should read should be the bible. It is where she will find all the facts about God and how a christian should live. God Bless.

Pastor Billy says: Stop the Left Behind series does not reflect 2000 years of Christian thought or belief. Starting with this fictional series would not be the place.
try GK Chesterton , Orthodoxy
Henry Newman, Conversion
Trumph , by Harry Crocker III
Surprised by Truth, by Patrick Madrid

I would suggest a book like "The Case for Christ". It will give factual information about Jesus. I personally would not recommend the Left Behind series as they get into a lot of topics that would be hard for someone new to faith to understand. In fact, they get into topics that can be hard for seasoned believers to understand. If your mom wants fiction to read, I recommend anything by Karen Kingsbury, she comes across as light but she has strong messages in her novels.
I hope this helps.

No it is not healthy to start a relationship with the Creator that way. Those books are all fiction. It is not good to serve God only because of fear. A person should also serve Him because of LOVE

Pierced by a Sword.
i enjoyed the left behind series, however i'm not too certian how good they would be for someone just starting out. they will get her curious and hopefully asking questions. just make sure she knows they are a story, not prophecy.

Why should you help her? It doesn't matter, when she dies she'll either go to Heaven or Hell, what do you care? You think by you "helping" her you improve her chances of making it to Heaven?
I think God is trying to help you.
-The Left Behind series hasn't been mocked by many Christians that I know.
