...wouldn't they leave him alone? Do you think that too many prayers would be a burden to him? I love this quote by George Carlin:

"I've often thought people treat God rather rudely, don't you? Asking trillions and trillions of prayers every day. Asking and pleading and begging for favors. Do this, gimme that, I need a new car, I want a better job. And most of this praying takes place on Sunday His day off. It's not nice. And it's no way to treat a friend." George Carlin

There is a difference between praying and just asking for special favors. Praying should be a heartfelt conversation between you and God. This does not discount learned prayers, such as the ones before meals, or the Our Father, etc.

Conversations with God may include special requests, but often times also include your thoughts, hopes, frustrations, and weaknesses. God cares and is listening. A human parent may get tired of listening to their child, but I believe God has the ability to never tire of our endless prayers.

Somehow I don't think we could ever talk too much to God. It is when we stop talking to him that he worries.

How can you leave anyone alone that you love? Why would you want to leave a loved one alone? You wouldn't! So those of us that love God talk to Him daily by way of prayers. We do ask things of Him in hopes that those prayers will be answered. Sometimes though no is the answer. God is love.

look your asking an exceedingly serious question on a wacko web site. i might prefer to ask many questions, yet Yahoo is so on the atheist area it extremely is turning out to be to be a real job. particularly some stupid silly non-believers respond with demonic rhetoric. enable me answer your question this way. human beings don't have faith, don't have faith because of the fact of a few thing they asked and that request replaced into not exceeded down via God. human beings don't have faith, because of the fact somebody they enjoyed died or have been given injured & they blame god for not saving them. human beings dont have faith, because of the fact whilst there down on their luck & they have been praying God did not answer their prayors human beings don't have faith because of the fact, they dont have the money others have, they ask God "why not me ?" They blame God. This international is crammed with non believers because of the fact what they sought with God, did not arrive on time. they're bitter with God, it extremely is why they hate & dont have faith in him. you notice atheist do beleive in God, why ? because of the fact they are easily combating with their perception that God isn't genuine. It angers them plenty, that they hate some thing it extremely is there that they plenty want not something of. Get the holy e book & whilst some thing arises which you're having a difficulty with, twirl the pages & ask for the Holy spirits course & end all of sudden. The bible will communicate for itself & you will see it extremely is chatting with you. yet, you've got faith.

I've been away, but I can see the Christians answers still are so goofy. Not only do they pester their god they don't even come close to living his word, if they did they would be Amish.

God is our Heavenly Father and He wants us to pray to Him. We can never pray too much. When we pray to God we are talking to Him. I don't always ask Him for things when I pray. Somethimes I just thank Him for the things He has done for me. God never has a day off. We grow stronger in Christ the more we pray.

its an intersting thought, though i suppose you to be athiest. God said ask and ye will recieve. IF, we didnt pray, do you think God would feel left out of our lives? Dont you think He wants to hear from HIs children, the same way you would if you were an old person in the nursing home? wouldn't you want to hear from your kids? ( and I dont say in a nursing home like God is justing sitting uppthere in HIs wheel chair)

No I don't think that my Lord would get tired of hearing our prayers. If my Lord Gave His ONLY SON I don't think something as small as a prayer would bother him as much. Would you kill your son for this world? Most people woundn't. I think because He loves us so much its an honor to be able to award his obedient with answering there prayers.

George is a unique man...

But, of course, it isn't possible to mistreat God since there is no God to be mistreated. So... go ahead and pray your a$$ off if you like - it's only your own time you'll be wasting.

I love questions that end in .............?
I think the big guy can handle it though. Also despite increasing populations, he's probably getting less and less of those prayers now as many people aren't as devoted to their faith as in the old days.

God wants us to pray to Him, He gave us a model for praying to Him. God is not like a person, he doesn't get fed up.
