Ford F-150 vs Dodge Ram 1500?

Assuming all the minor stuff is the same on both, condition, miles, options etc
Which is the best all round truck for normal daily (not work) use?

Age range: 99-02
Drive: 4x4
Miles: 80k-100K

Any info would be a great help.

The F-150. It has been around for over 50 years, so Ford has worked out every kink and has made all the improvements and advancements the public wanted.

I will take the Dodge. That interior looks great, better than the ford in my opinion.

basically the two trucks are almost the same with slight differences in the locations of certain parts and the dodge clutch is slightly better engineered

dodge is a no frills vehicle. And your talking about a gas truck as it is. Your looking at a high mileage one at that.

Sorry to say I would not go with either. I own a '04 Ram 3500 diesel with a 6 speed. That's the only way I would buy a dodge again.

The creature comforts of a dodge are less than the ford and the ford is way less than the Chevy.

If your looking for a good truck to drive around town, not haul anything with I would look at the Toyota or Honda. you will be much happier.

Other wise get a diesel.

Ford is by far the better made truck. But I would try to go with one that has less than 50K miles on it, in my experience niether Ford or Dodge lasts more than 100K miles without serious problems.
Good Luck, I would also recommend the best selling fullsize pickup right now, the Toyota Tundra. It has all the power of the others, even more options and comfort, and it is reliable enough to last 100"s of thousands of miles with no problems.

Get the dodge, those fords seem to have a problem with blowing up spark plugs in the cylinders.

Just my opinion. Being a Chevy guy myself, I'd have to say Ford over Dodge.
But they both suck.
