and your friends keep saying that it wont last as long as youd like it to
stooooopppppp saying that :(
its been a while already, anyway!
are they trying to say something by saying that? or are they just being plain mean? pshhh

There are two possibilities1)they are envious of your potential romance with this guy and they want to discourage you.2) they know something about this guy you don't know and they are not saying to you and what they know is not good .Hence, my advice is to confront the person(s) saying it will not last the next time they say it.Demand that they tell you why they keep repeating it or to stop saying it. However, let them understand that you would appreciate it more if they tell you their reasons especially if they are not good.Then you can decide on what to do after that. I hope things work out for you though.

It's possible that they're trying to protect you and keep you from getting hurt. Have you been unlucky in love in the past and gone crying to your friends? Are they just trying to prevent you from falling head over heels in love with someone who doesn't love you back as intensely as you love them? Or are they jealous of your happiness? Both are possible. On another note:are you truly friends with people you'd suspect of being "plain mean" to you. If you are, I'd say distance yourself from those 'friends'

They are jealous.
Tell them, "You are just jealous because it has already lasted longer than you thought! Now, stop making yourself sound stupid, and don't talk about my relationship again, unless you can be nice."

If these are your true friends, I think they may know something that you don't. Sit down and talk with your friends and find out why they think it won't last.

Maybe they see something that you don't see because you're in "love". Why don't you ask them what they mean when they say that?
