"The complaint was filed by Maria Del Pilar Delgado and Abdia Cortez Liberio, who lost their jobs when federal immigration officials raided the Portland plant and arrested 167 employees on immigration violation charges.

The lawsuit claims Del Monte refused to pay overtime for more than 10 hours worked in a day, underpaid workers by 30 minutes every day and would not provide required 10-minute rest periods and half-hour meal breaks. "

Should we feel sorry for Del Monte?

I don't, do you?

I find it funny how illegal immigrants claim they don't know they're breaking the law when they come here illegally, but look at them cross-eyed and look how fast they sue you.Something similar happened here last year. No, I do not feel bad for DelMonte,Green Giant vegetables are better anyway.

Sweet...most of the canned products in my pantry are Del Monte! If these businesses continue to be exposed doing what they do, my family and I are going to have to stop eating all together to avoid supporting the employing of illegals. No, I don't feel sorry for Del Monte but I am also getting rubbed at our courts entertaining the complaints of illegals in our system too. It's becoming much more prevalent. Why are they being heard and not deported? Craziness.

It`s hard to believe that the illegals have such a right to sue and aren`t they all deported? All I ever hear is that theyr`e such good workers for the crap jobs, but don`t appreciate that they had a job in the first place.[being illegal]. It`s the factory`s fault they hired them in the first place and sooner or later Del Monte would of been busted for it. Maybe those two sueing are making crap up for extra money, because it`s hard to believe the crew wasn`t eating lunch or nothing. I doubt the workers were that super powered to keepup on all them hours unless they were snorting cocaine.

How on Earth do Illegal Aliens have any Constitutional Rights including the right to sue when they are not Legal Citizens/ Residents of the US?

Deport these freeloaders ASAP!

Sorry I can't feel sorry for them. Just as I wouldn't feel sorry for any other company or business who got sued by the illegals they hired. Perhaps if this happened more often, these businesses would stop hiring illegals altogether, and give the jobs back to legal workers, and citizens.

It is galling beyond belief that illegals can sue for just about anything, including being hurt on the job, etc., hire an attorney, be awarded disability, and win their cases, getting thousands upon thousands of dollars in settlements.

Leeches, moochers, parasites.

Let me get this straight, when the illegals break our laws that's okay because they are see themselves as victims and they see it as their due, for being poor, NAFTA, so on and so on, take your pick. But when those same illigals feel they have been the victims of unfair labor practices, they demand their rights. Good work if you can get it.

If I was on the jury for that trial I don't think I'd award the illegal workers a dime.

Nope, as far as I'm concerned ICE can ship them to Mexico too. They are nothing but traitors. I will not buy their products.
