Wiccans have no "powers" nor have they any real ability to perform magic, despite what they believe. They think magic is casting a circle and chanting a cheesy little rhyme. But then that's to be expected of people who read and actually believe Silver Ravenwolf books and live by the show Charmed.
Real Witches (properly called Traditional or common historical, sometimes pagan witches or heathen witches) are absolutely *not* Wiccan. In fact, there is a huge difference. The reason most Wiccans don't know this is that there is an abundance of misinformation out there, unfortunately.
A Witch knows how to harness energy to make things happen for the benefit of themselves or others, within reason of course.
Anyway, both Witches and Wiccans are typically peaceful people and have no desire to take the world over. Even if we did, we could not do it with "magical powers."

Well, if you mean real Wiccans, it's because Wicca is about balance, recognizing the Divinity in all things.
A Wiccan strives to be in balance with the world, and we know that any man made claims of control over others and the world are strictly transitory and do not serve to further our understanding of life and the universe.
A Wiccan, while we like our comforts as much as the next person, are in it for what comes at the end of the journey.
Besides, the amount of energy needed for such is HUGE, it would build up far too much heat, and that would tax the heck out of the A/C, not to mention the amount of food you would have to eat to recoup all that energy, and to ground afterwords.
So we are actually restrained by the Laws of Thermodynamics.
First Law states that energy cannot be created or destroyed; rather, the amount of energy lost in a steady state process cannot be greater than the amount of energy gained.
The second law states that "energy systems have a tendency to increase their entropy" (heat transformation content) rather than decrease it.
The third law states as temperature approaches absolute zero, the entropy of a system approaches a constant
That's just too much work for world domination.

... I think you're overestimating the extent of power in magic. Magic can be somewhat helpful, a little powerful sometimes, but it's not THAT powerful. Besides, it's against the general ethics of both witchcraft and Wicca.
I'd be somewhat concerned if the magic we practice really WAS powerful enough to take over the world. I mean we'd have to do something about Silver Ravenwolf and Laurie Cabot...

By "taking over the world" by use of magick, we would be manipulating individual will, forcing our own desires and ideas upon others who might not agree with our perspective. Although many cultures and religions feel this is appropriate, we Wiccans understand and honor the right an individual has to freedom of thought, concept, and religion, and that it is morally wrong to force our beliefs upon another.

Ever look at tree and think that it's incredibly beautiful? Ever close your eyes and feel a gentle wind blowing on you calming every inch of your body? Ever just lay in the grass and look up in the sky picking out shapes in the clouds? I have so my world has already been taken over. The world has already been taken over...you just haven't realized it yet if you've never done any of these things.

Wiccans use their power for their personal improvement with their god/goddess... because that kind of selfishness shouldn't be the course of any religion, and Wiccans are understanding enough to realize this.

Feeling a need to take over the world would involve ego, which the powers don't work well with. They are not of the physical world.

Its not about Power, its about empowerment. Being that Wicca teaches to respect others' beliefs, followers belief in 'harm none' and maintaining balance in all things.
Personally, I think if Wicca became the dominant religion, it would then be as corrupted as the other faiths.

Do you know how hard it would be to run the world? Plus there's the spiritual burden (orlog) you would bring on yourself for violating so many people's free wills.
I prefer to let people manage themselves.
