The other day, my friend said that you can't wear anything with the color red at school, or at least my school. Not only does this puzzle me because the rule seems a little bizarre (if it's true, I am sure there is some stupid justification), but also because I have worn various red T-shirts before and have never gotten in trouble with dress code. Is this rule true or was my friend lying? If it is true, then explain the fact that I wear shirts with the color red on them all the time and I don't get in trouble?

Some schools have very strict dress codes banning one particular color (often a local gang color) or even just allowing two or three different colors (like only green or blue shirts). But it varies a lot from school to school. I take it your friend isn't in the same school as you are? He may be quoting his school rules to you, assuming your school is the same.
About your own school, you should be able to find the dress code in the school handbook, or ask a teacher for a copy.

I think your "friend" was just messing around with you. I have never heard of NOT being allowed to wear a certain color, unless maybe you go to a private school or a place where you wear uniforms. It's not true. Wear red some day then tell your friend you got detention and see what he/she says.

I don't see why that would cause a problem. Unless, you attend a school where gang activity might be a problem where red means a certain gang color. If I was you I would ask an authority figure at your school just to make sure if this is bogus or not.

Depends, was this a religious school, or a private school? If so they have do have a dress code. And certain color's are gang related or against school color's. So ask her about it or look her school up online to see why maybe.

Talk to your school counselor or teacher and ask. Your friend is probably pulling your leg (or that shirt you were wearing was making his/her eyes hurt) The only other reason is if you have gangs in your school and that is one of the gang colors. But I think your friend is pulling your leg.

Never heard of it, unless it's just something they do because maybe your school's sports enemy's colors are red? Call the school and ask, I think if it were true you would have been told that in your yearly orientation. I think you are being pranked.

Why didn't you just ask your friend why they told you not to wear red?

The most popular reason for not wearing a certain color is because of it's gang affiliation.

So if that is the case you need to thank your friend for looking out for you. It was for your own safety.

I have never heard of such a thing but I certainly wouldn't ask that question here! How can anyone else but you know the rules of your own school? Ask at the office or the principal.

It depends on the area of the school. I went to a school with a lot of thugs, and when they wore red, we would automatically associate them with being in the gang the Crypts.
