It seems possible that certain places around the globe are "more lenient" than in the United States.

They may have more lenient ideas about hygiene, about food safety, about child restraints in vehicles, about police corruption, about nutrition, about health care, about domestic violence, and about animal cruelty for example.

Does such leniency sound like it is in anyone's best interests?

Jehovah's Witnesses have one standard, God's will as expressed in the bible. At times, an isolated group of Witnesses may be insufficiently trained by those standards or those Witnesses may have an incomplete understanding about which matters need to be handled by their elders. As these isolated groups gain maturity and wisdom, it seems likely that their "leniency" will be a thing of the past.

We are the same. USA laws offer more protection for different beliefs than other countries. that is due in no small part to JWs going over 40 times to the Supreme Court to have the Constitution enforced.

Other countries have no guarantee of religious freedom or assembly or being able to follow your conscience. It depends more on what the state tells you what you can do at the moment. So it is more difficult for our brothers in other countries. Still, we all hold to the same beliefs.

How much longer that continues in the USA is up for grabs. Current administration views is apparently heading towards limiting all rights. For us, it is just one more thing to endure as we do not take a part in politics. We obey all laws of whatever country we are in as long as they do not conflict with God's laws which are higher than man's. Much as federal laws take precedents over state laws.

"Under the control" of JW's? What does that mean? JW's are the same world wide. We get the same information no matter where we live in the world. We all practice the same thing.

I have no clue what you mean by "lenient."

I don't know, but maybe you should ask your current pastor on this subject. I find it interesting you state you were "under their, (being the JW)as a child. Hmm.

God likes people of other cultures more than he likes Americans.

No all kidding aside...they wouldn't have freedom to practice their faith in other countries if they did not ease up on the dogma and the requirements...For instance, they would be banned in Bolivia with the anti Blood doctrine that they impose on American witneses.....Hypocritical...Absolutely, but a cult has to keep the money flowing somehow and God would understand.

We are a global brotherhood, what is important in one area is important else where.
