I was not born into my faith. I know what the Lord has done for me at my lowest.
Why does it bother you so bad? Why do you work so hard at this? You have the right to deny Christ if you want. Try walking in love or at least showing respect for others.

I was born into a Christian family, however, that's not why I stick with it. When I went through a divorce I cleaned out my mind from everything I had learned in life thus far and rebuilt it, so to speak. Christianity works for me but I think you may be trying to be too logical when it really is a spiritual gift.
All I can say is visit some good churches where the individuals really do praise God, if you have a prayer request do try calling CBN or TBN sometime. This is where one of my miracles took place. I am not affiliated with either, but a CBN counselor prayed with me on the phone and honest-to-God I felt it deeper than anything I would be able to describe to you.
Read the Bible and begin with the New Testament. Sincerely pray to God.
Ask others or ask places like TBN or CBN to recommend a spirit-filled church in your area.
You will know it is real when you are standing there praising God and what you can only identify as tears just pours out of your eyes and you look around and everyone is wiping their eyes. It is the Spirit, not normal tears.
If I were you, just ignore the religious trappings and scholarly aspect and use your heart, soul and spirit in seeking God. I feel that God has revealed himself (I'm not convinced God is a "he" or "she") to me too many times in life not to know that God and spirituality is real.
If you live in Ocala Florida, I would recommend my church, Meadowbrook Church. Our primary thing is to worship God and you can leave the fancy clothes and the 2 ton hats at home. If you really want to know God, you will.

Born Roman Catholic then became away by using hypocrisy and pretend teachings, Later got here back and became a Protestant the position i found purely as a lot hypocrisy or perhaps more desirable pretend teachings. Then I spent about 4 years reading what the unique Christian faith actual changed into in accordance to the writings of human beings that were actual there and shortly realised it isn't the religion it quite is defective, it truly is cutting-edge guy's alterations which have perplexed it. The flaw's at the prompt are not contained in the religion, yet contained in the folk.

I am not a Christian, but I also ask the same question about my Religion (Islam). Good thing you asks first. You hit the bullseye about the nonesense things that "Scholars" readily explain/expound whenever asked. It does not make sense, really, at all. I am turning 40 and had started asking the "Q" when I turned 20. And whenever I asked the Q, my elders and the scholars would brand me as becoming infidel, making blasphemy of the religion, but they can not answer the Q straightly. You are right, people can not seem to decide because we are born to the religion we have known of.

Non-Christian, why does your "question" not match the rest of your comments?
You're right, examples are here in the questions posed by atheists. Such as this one. The example I mean is the atheist fascination with Christ. What is it about Him that compels you to single out Christians for your abuse? Are you that in need of Christ that you are willing to waste your time attacking something you don't even believe in? Just so you can somehow hang around on the fringe of Christian gatherings such as this? Afraid you won't measure up, so you just stand apart and throw stones and try to break up any peaceful meeting? Maybe instead of asking us why we believe in Christ, maybe you should be asking yourself why you're afraid to admit that you do, too.

Don't know if this is the type of answer you were hoping for but here's my view on Christianity or any religion.
I was a Catholic for about 16 years (was born into it). I decided I did not like having my life dictated for me by religious rules. I began searching my own heart for answers - made a lot of mistakes that way but I didn't blindly obey religious rules. I am in my 50's now and and at peace without believing in any religion. I believe in God but God did not create religion, man did. I claim my constitutional right of "Religious Freedom" or in my terms, "Freedom From Religion."

I tried to walk away from being a born again christian but the lord never left my side. I grew up in the streets as a child, raised in groups homes and lucky enough to meet a christian family that gave my life new meaning. My life could have been alot worse but I was lucky enough to have been given a straight path. I dreamed of being a rouge growing up..now I have a son that has a dream he's followed since jr high. No abuse in his life and a bright future ahead. Never having to go through the background I did. Too you it may be just another story...but to him and his graduation this year? One more step to a bright future......

I was born into a Jewish home. Raised Jewish.
Mocked CHristianity through my teen years. Even questioned it and felt powerful when Christians stumbled over answers.
Then questioned an apparently empty sky about the existence of a god. I said, "If you're really out there, prove it to me! Not with people, but by yourself! IF this Jesus is someone I should believe in, prove that, too."
And he did. Amazingly and perfectly, without a person saying anything to me, He proved himself and Jesus real to me.
It's been 28 years since that summer and He has proven himself faithful to everything he has ever said or promised... even the fact that his reality would be considered foolishness by those who have no interest in knowing him.

Because atheists can't come up with a real situation that could have created earth without a God "Uh, a whole bunch of matter has always been in the universe, cuz uhhh that makes sense, and then uhhh it blew up, and that created the earth, and then over time meteors with things that can make life uhhh hit water on earth and created life..." In other words atheism is a religion as much as Christianity is.

I was raised in a family where mom went to church and dad stayed in bed all morning.
I knew of God when I was 5 because of my mom, but I didn't understand hardly anything about the Bible, even though I would read it, until I was in my thirties.
At that time the Holy Spirit opened my eyes and I understood what I was reading and was amazed with the continuity from Genesis to Revelation.
