Steve, technically if you know Christ you are a Christain, What most Christians think is faith is actuallly the will of man and sometimes it is even the will fo the flesh. Read Coloddians 2 for the latter wake up call.

If you believe the same things Christians believe, you are a Christian. However, Christians are supposed to love one another, so not having any love would make someone a poor Christian

Nope, God IS love.
This is how we know who is the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother. 1 John 3:10

How can you worship in truth and have no love? That's like saying "Are you really a human if you breath air and have gills?" You can't have it both ways.

We can't say that we are Christian and no have the love of God and people rooted very deeply in the heart. I do love everyone no matter how they feel about me of my beliefs. God bless.
